2012 Whitehall Lane Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
*One Star* For the Whitehall Lane brace, it is really a matter of stylistic preference when it comes to choosing one. This is the more open of the two and while it may not last as long in the bottle, it is significantly easier on the palate right now. It would be unfair to suggest that it can't age, but its flavors are accessible and, if a few years in bottle cannot hurt, they are certainly not strongly demanded.
0 With a healthy helping of Merlot, as well as Petit Verdot and Malbec, this Cab is soft and well integrated, high in acidity with layers of bright, just-picked raspberry. Lurking in the underbelly of its soul are elements of cedar and dried herb. (VB)
Densely coloured. Elegant bright black- and blue-fruit notes with hint of sweet vanilla and bramble. Intense plum and blueberry flavours with a lush mouth feel. Integrated tannins with a long elegant dark-fruit finish. (MD)
Presents a powerful core of mocha-infused blackberry, plum and currant flavors, with charcoal, graphite and iron notes. A minerally, textural edge accompanies the long, clean finish. (JL)
