 Strong reduction renders the nose impossible to evaluate so again do yourself a favor and aerate this well if you're going to crack a bottle young. There is excellent volume to the mouth coating and intensely mineral-driven medium weight flavors that possess plenty of that lovely underlying tension that continues onto the markedly dry but not really austere finish that is akin to rolling rocks around in your mouth. This crystalline effort is built on its minerality and this too will definitely require a few years of bottle age to flesh out but it should be terrific when it does.  (6/2014)

 Pale, bright yellow. Citrus peel, clove and subtle minerality on the nose. Sweet, rich and highly concentrated, with mineral-driven gunflint and iodine notes intensifying the brisk, chewy lemon and pineapple flavors. Still youthfully strict and stony but the underlying pliancy and sweetness of the vintage are clear to see. There's plenty more ahead for this outstanding Perrieres.  (9/2014)

Now grown all over the world and bottled by its varietal name, Chardonnay has achieved a level of branding unlike any other wine. - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. - The town of Meursault is a prosperous village, with a Gothic town hall and narrow winding streets. It produces a small amount of red wine, but is justly famous for its whites. Although it has no Grand Cru vineyards, its Premiers Crus are justly famous, particularly Charmes, Poruzots, Perrières and Genevrières. A good Meursault has concentration, grip and backbone, in addition to its soft and rich fruit.
