Jefferson's "Groth Reserve Cask Finish" Small Batch Bourbon (750ml)

SKU #1209667 90 points Wine Enthusiast

This experimental 'very small batch' bottling is made with 'very old' Kentucky Bourbon finished for nine months in barrels that previously held Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley winery Groth. The end result is a caramel and dried-fruit nose and a relatively dry, tannic whiskey with a port-like dark-fruit undercurrent. Debuted May 2015. (KN) (9/2016)

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.
