2013 Buehler Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine & Spirits
Here’s a steal: a lush, rich Napa Valley cabernet for $25. The fruit is bright, with red cherry scents and crisp lines. The tight, mineral-inflected tannins lend it some sophistication and spice. Pour it with grilled sirloin.
Buehler's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is dark, juicy and bold, with plenty of dark red cherry, plum, mocha, spice and leather. Drink this attractive, mid-weight Cabernet over the next few years. (AG)
*Editors' Choice* This is an impressive effort, especially at the price, which is kind of unheard of in these parts. Softened by 9% Merlot, it's rich and full-bodied without ever overdoing it, opaque in color with a nose of baked bread and flavors of raspberry and black currant. It's food-ready.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
One of the great values in Napa Cabernet Sauvignon year-in, year-out is Buehler Vineyards. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is dense ruby/purple with loads of cassis and spice box. The wine is beautifully pure, luscious, round, juicy and sexy. Drink it over the next 5-7 years, although I suspect it will keep longer. Wines like this are few and far between -- sadly -- in Napa Valley. (RP)
