J-M Sélèque "Tradition" Brut Champagne

SKU #1189449 92 points Vinous

The NV Brut Tradition is a bold, rich wine with plenty of bright citrus, white flower, smoke and chalk notes. Incisive yet also deep, the NV Brut Tradition is endowed with real energy and intensity. Dosage is 7 grams per liter, but the NV Brut Tradition feels a bit drier than that. The blend is 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Meunier and 5% Pinot Noir, with the Chardonnay particularly expressive today. With time in the glass, the Brut Tradition becomes richer as the breadth conferred by the red grapes takes on a greater role. This is a gorgeous Champagne from J-M Sélèque. Dosage is 7 grams/liter. Disgorged: November 2014. (AG) (11/2015)

91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound

A cool and restrained nose features notes of yeast, various white flowers, citrus peel and green apple. There is good verve and lovely detail to the delicious, intense and lightly mineral-inflected flavors that display good complexity on the crisp and moderately dry finish. This is really quite pretty and though it could be enjoyed now I would be inclined to hold it for a few years first in order to develop a bit more texture. (1/2015)

90 points Wine Spectator

This elegant Champagne carries a subtle mesh of smoke, Gala apple, almond biscotti, chalk and lemon zest notes on a soft, creamy mousse. Fresh finish. (AN, Web-2015)
