2011 Kapcsandy Family "State Lane Vineyard-Estate Cuvée" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Good full, deep red. Highly perfumed aromas of black fruits and licorice, with a hint of candied berries. Silky but youthfully restrained, with classically dry flavors of black fruits, licorice and graphite. Best today on the very long, firmly tannic back end, which promises a slow and graceful evolution in bottle. (ST)
A wonderful core of fruit in this wine with blueberry, dark-chocolate and cocoa character. Full body with chewy tannins and a long finish. Sexy.

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Cuvee State Lane Vineyard (1,800 cases produced from a blend of 66% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest the other Bordeaux varietals) is soft, round and charming. It comes across as a Pessac-Leognan style of wine with some earthiness, sweet currant fruit, roasted herbs and a round, juicy finish. (RP)
There's plenty to admire in this trim mix of ripe currant, dark berry, cedar, tobacco leaf, dried herb and wildflower notes. Turns and stays from tannic midpalate on. (JL)
