Thiénot Brut Champagne (375ml) (Previously $22.00)

SKU #1160697 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

A very reserved but well-defined nose with good sense of minerality. The palate I described as fresh and clinical with an intense green apply entry, an entrancing almost Zen-like palate with superb delineation and focus. Very dry, almost abrupt on the finish, I find this minimalist champagne captivating. (NM) (2/2008)

Pale yellow. Lemon curd, quince, white flowers, honey and vanilla on the fragrant nose. Taut, refreshingly bitter citrus pith and toasty lees flavors give way to richer melon and peach with air, with honeysuckle and ginger notes adding complexity. A pungent, waxy note carries through the smoky expansive finish. (JR) (12/2012)

90 points Wine Enthusiast

This is soft with a delicate mousse, yet shows a crisp edge—a hallmark of the firm's style. Ripe apple and green plum flavors combine with a rich and soft dosage to give a full wine that has almond as well as fruit flavors. (RV) (12/2015)

Jancis Robinson

Cool steely lemon nose. Quite sharp and brisk and lemony. No-nonsense champagne. Definitely an appetite-whetter rather than a food wine. (TC) (10/2013)

Wine & Spirits

There’s precision to the minerality of this wine, a serious streak of limestone under bright, candied fruit. It’s a full, generous style, ready for poached prawns. (12/2012)

Wine Spectator

Almond paste and yeast notes mix with flavors of cut apple, smoke, honey, sea salt and biscuit in this lightly creamy, mouthwatering version, with moderate length. (Web-2013)

This Champagne was the surprise of the Oscars - the small upstart house that kicked out Moet! Drink with the stars! It is composed of 45% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 20% Meunier. The light gold color and big brioche, cream and baked apple nose gives way to a wine that is packed with power and complexity on the palate. This full bodied Champagne has a luscious finish that is very impressive.
