2010 Futo "OV" Oakville Bordeaux Blend
Dark berries, raspberry jam, flowers, graphite and mint all flesh out in an inviting, textured wine loaded with class and pedigree. A sumptuous, layered wine, the 2010 impresses for its overall balance and poise. Futo's OV would best most top labels in Napa Valley. It is that good. Quite simply, this is a drop-dead gorgeous wine from Tom Futo and his team.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2010 OV boasts a serious core of fruit backed up by firm, imposing tannins. Graphite, incense and crushed rocks come to life in the glass. The 2010 is a structured, intense wine that is going to need another few years in the cellar. Far from an easygoing ‘second’ wine, the 2010 is stacked and packed. A deep, mineral-drenched finish laced with exotic floral notes rounds things out in style. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025.
Weaves together a complex mix of dark berry, mocha-laced oak, cedar and black licorice flavors, appropriately firm and tannic and most interesting on the finish, where the flavors glide along. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot. Drink now through 2022.
