Domaine Chandon "Étoile" Brut Rosé

SKU #1126315 92 points Wine Enthusiast

Dark peach in color, the aromatics on this sparkling blend of 50% Chardonnay, 42% Pinot Noir and 8% Pinot Meunier are muted, but open in time to reveal wild strawberry and green apple. With structured acidity, expect a bite on the finish. Any kind of fresh seafood, especially oysters or calamari, would pair well here. (12/2013)

Connoisseurs Guide

Young, moderately fruity and fairly sparing as far as the yeasty imperatives of champenization go, this wine is one that steers to vinosity first and displays the weight and the slight tannic grip that the Rosé genre predicts. It is a bit on the coarse side and not long on finesse, and it belongs at the table more than in a glass sipped alone. (11/2013)

Wine Spectator

Dusty, dry and sleek, with strawberry and dried apricot aromas and mature flavors of papaya, citrus and spice. Drink now. (12/2013)
