2010 Kistler "McCrea Vineyard" Sonoma Mountain Chardonnay
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2010 Chardonnay McCrea Vineyard is laced with lovely precision and class. White flowers, crushed rocks, yellow stone fruits and apricots emerge from this pretty, expressive Chardonnay. The McCrea is one of the more open 2010s here today. Its essential understated elegance comes through in spades. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. (AG)

Bright gold. Musky aromas of poached pear, peach pit and nutmeg, with a minerally topnote. Concentrated, fleshy and opulent, showing impressively intense peach and pear skin flavors without coming across as overly weighty. Finishes with excellent clarity and length, leaving a spicy note behind. (ST)
Fresh and lively, with a subtle mix of white peach, nectarine and chalky crushed rock. Delivers pure and zesty vibrancy on the finish. Drink now through 2019. (JL)
Vineyard note, from the winery: "Produced since 1988. Located on the eastern flank of Sonoma Mountain where redwoods still thrive in a very rare for the area mix of Sonoma volcanics and limestone. Produces one of our more elegant wines, Chablis like in its markings of white flowers and lime blossom with a chalk driven subtle, ethereal core of fruit."
