1995 La Dominique, St. Emilion

SKU #110263

Toasty oak, coffee and tobacco aromas, lots of ripe, forward fruit on the palate. 90-92 points from Parker… 'One of the most conspicuous over-achievers from Bordeaux's right bank appellations of St.-Emilion and Pomerol, La Dominique continues to fashion excellent wines that still represent fine value (although their prices are beginning to creep up). An impressively saturated, thick, viscous, opaque purple color is impressive. The nose offers up liqueur-like, black-cherry and cassis-scented aromas wrapped in generous quantities of toasty, smoky oak. Fat and full-bodied, with superb raw materials, this large-scaled, layered, rich, low acid, moderately tannic wine should prove to be the finest La Dominique since the terrific duo of 1989 and 1990. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2018. (Feb-97)'
