2008 Dehlinger "Estate" Russian River Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate comes across as quite round and plush. Ripe, silky tannins frame the refined finish. In 2008, the Estate is not meaningfully more complex than the Claret; in fact, over time the Claret may prove to be the more interesting wine. The Estate is made in a forward style that emphasizes aromatic expressiveness and layered fruit. A blast of dark red berries lingers on the close. (RP)
Complex, well-structured and elegant, with spicy raspberry, cedar and red licorice flavors, turning supple and graceful on the long, subtle, lingering finish. A rare Russian River Cabernet, not to mention one that succeeds handsomely.

Bright purple. Sexy, floral-accented aromas of blackberry and cassis, with a spicy quality that gains intensity with air. Bright and focused on the palate, offering lively dark berry flavors and a candied rose nuance. Fine-grained tannins add shape and structure to an impressively long, sweet finish. I like this wine's marriage of power and finesse. (ST)
