2002 Paul Hobbs Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
***Highly Recommended*** This rich, plush, concentrated young Cabernet exhibits layers of firm currant, black cherry and plum that are supple and harmonious. Picks up momentum, with the flavors unfolding gracefully on the finish, revealing extra nuances and ending in a remarkably complex finish. (JL)
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon (his least expensive cuvee) offers luscious black currant and sweet cherry fruit in its spicy nose and flavors, and a full-bodied opulence with an accessible open-knit style. A well made, classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that won’t break the bank, this youthful 2002 should continue to offer outstanding drinking for another decade. (RP)

Good full ruby-red. Subdued aromas of black plum, cassis, menthol and bitter chocolate. Deep and plush but still a bit muscular and unforthcoming in the middle. This has much more sweetness and stuffing than the Cross Barn, and thus the tannins come across as finer.
