Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales "La Roja" Wild Ale, Michigan (750ml)

SKU #1044709 93 points Wine Enthusiast

This amber ale brewed in the Flanders tradition pours a slightly cloudy mahogany color with an off-white head. Initial aromas of earthy, wood-driven spices and tart cherries abound, with a secondary note of barnyard and a rich caramel streak. The beer exhibits superb balance; the full-bodied and slightly sweet profile is countered by lifting sour fruit flavors. Medium carbonation keeps the palate fresh and lively. (LB) (8/2012)

United States

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.
