2000 Colgin "Herb Lamb Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
*Collectibles* A thoroughly rich, plush and persistent wine loaded with plush currant and chocolaty flavors, with sage, earth, mocha and espresso scents adding to its complexity. Deeply concentrated, it nonetheless displays a remarkable sense of elegance and finesse and is deftly balanced. Best from 2005 through 2014.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
There are 350 cases of the 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Herb Lamb Vineyard, which is performing better out of bottle than it did from cask. It reveals a singular, exotic bouquet of flowers (geraniums?) and a minty undertone intermixed with copious quantities of blueberries, cassis, and tar. Dense, rich, and full-bodied, it is a strong effort that should drink well for 10-12 years.
Highly sought after and always in short supply, Colgin Cellars is a California wine collector's dream producer. Sold by the winery directly at release, we are often able to obtain these wines from well stored private cellars. If you're not lucky enough to be on the Colgin mailing list, here's your chance to live like you are!
