2001 Peter Michael "Mon Plaisir" Knights Valley Chardonnay
***Highly Recommended*** A stunning wine; rich, opulent, creamy and seductive, with layers of complex fig, apricot, honeysuckle and hints of roasted grain, hazelnut and toasty oak. Finishes with amazing length and complexity. (JL)

The 2001 Chardonnay Mon Plaisir boasts wonderfully sweet notes of orange marmalade, apple skins, buttered citrus, vanilla, and subtle wood. It is full-bodied, rich, and pure, with terrific acidity providing freshness as well as delineation. (RP)

Less bright appearance than the Belle Cote. Exotic orange peel, green apple and coconut on the nose, with little sign of new oak. Very ripe, fat and thick, with oily, lush yellow fruit flavors. Showing more obvious sweetness as well as a warmer finish. But this also possesses excellent backbone and depth of fruit, not to mention superb length and grip.
Rich and tart, a spice-packed wine brimming with flavors of pears and tropical fruits that are tightly wound around a core of fresh young acids. The oak has been lavishly applied. Fine now, but will benefit from a few years of age.
