 A blend of 40% Chardonnay from several grands cru sites, plus 30% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier. The base wine is 2014, supported by 40% grand cru Pinot Noir and Chardonnay reserve wine from 2012 and 2013. It is 100% vinified in stainless steel tanks before undergoing malolactic fermentation, with a final dosage of 9g/l. It has a pale salmon hue and a fine mousse, with a firm nose of ripe red fruit and citrus zest. The palate is round but elegant, boasting a fresh acid structure to balance the creamy apple and bold redcurrant fruit. (TG)  (5/2018)

 Billecart-Salmon is probably most famous for their excellent bottling of non-vintage Brut Rosé, and the new bottling is another superb wine. The cépages is comprised of forty percent chardonnay, twenty percent pinot meunier and thirty-five percent pinot noir, with eight percent of the pinot noir included as still wine to give this wine its lovely, pale salmon color. The dosage is slightly higher here, but still judicious at nine grams per liter. The bouquet is pure and vibrant, wafting from the glass in a mix of tangerine, almonds, smoke, lovely minerality, wheat toast and dried flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and very focused, with a fine core, racy, zesty acids and great cut and grip on the long and beautifully balanced finish.  (5/2014)

 Pale orange. High-pitched red berry, orange zest and jasmine aromas, with suave mineral and smoky lees notes adding complexity. Spicy and precise on the palate, showing very good punch to its strawberry and bitter cherry flavors. Opens up smoothly with air and picks up a bitter rhubarb quality that lingers onto the long, tightly focused finish. This bottling showed more brawny character than many past renditions of this cuvée, but with no lack of vivacity. (JR)  (1/2015)

Nothing is better than Champagne from magnum, and this is the benchmark in rose Champagne, and it deserves every bit of its fame. I find it elegant and balanced every time that I have it, and the blushing pink color is always perfect. If you are looking for a famous producer that delivers the goods, the Billecart Salmon Brut Rose Champagne is a great choice. I like the wine best as an aperitif, the only thing it need to pair with is a good glass.
