2003 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $301.00.

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 1:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 2003 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Madrona Ranch is just an amazing wine in the vintage. Notes of smoked meats intermixed with licorice, camphor, graphite, blackberry, and flowers, with a hint of cedar and spice box, have produced a wine that is more up-front and forward than most Abreu wines have been, and gorgeously rich and full-bodied. Last year I thought the wine needed 2-3 years of cellaring, but based on this tasting, I could drink it now or cellar it for 20+ years."

1997 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $901.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 5:30 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1997 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 boasts an opaque black/purple color as well as a gorgeous bouquet of roasted meats, scorched earth, blackberry, creme de cassis, minerals, and toast. The soaring aromatics are matched by a phenomenally intense, seamless palate, with full-bodied opulence, exquisite purity and symmetry, and a multidimensional finish that lasts for nearly a minute. This wine will be delicious when released next year, and will last for 25-30 years. It is a tour de force in winemaking."

1995 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $450.00.

Auction Ending on August 22, 2013 3:30 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aged in 100% new Taransaud barrels (as are all Abreu's wines), this wine boasts an opaque purple color, in addition to a fabulous bouquet of blueberries, blackberries, cassis, licorice, minerals, and smoky, toasty oak. The wine's aromatics soar from the glass, and in the mouth, the bouquet's promise is fulfilled. A thick, juicy, black fruit character comes across in cascades of fruit, glycerin, and extract. All of this has been buttressed by sweet tannin and good acidity. A voluptuously-textured, blockbuster, yet remarkably harmonious wine, it is one of the finest efforts of the vintage."

2006 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $555.00.

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (100RP, 97WS, 94-95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Syrah Reva, coming from parcels of dark, volcanic soil, has off-the-chart richness and intensity. This thick, opaque-purple colored wine offers up notes of scorched earth, ground pepper, and blackberry liqueur intermixed with cassis, licorice, camphor, and tar. The wine is spectacular in every sense. Full-bodied and certainly not for wimps, this is a remarkably concentrated yet very nuanced and intense wine that should age for 20 more years."

Staff Image

2008 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (1.5L) Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $423.00.

Auction Ending on August 22, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this 2-magnum-bottle lot of 2008 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (1.5L) (96RP, 95-96JS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Reva (Syrah) is stunningly beautiful. This is a relatively delicate, feminine Reva that impresses for its length, balance and utter purity of fruit. Dark red cherries, flowers, mint and silky, saline notes wrap around the expressive fruit on the long, polished finish. A hint of truffles adds to the wine’s sensual, totally beguiling personality. In 2008, the Reva is drop-dead gorgeous. Readers should note that, in this vintage, there is no Lorraine or Seymour’s, so the 2008 is a 'super-Reva!'"

2000 Anderson's Conn Valley "Estate Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $130.00.

Auction Ending on August 21, 2013 12:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Anderson's Conn Valley "Estate Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (88-91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Vinous aromas of cherry, redcurrant and tobacco. Sweeter and rounder than the 1999, with a bit more flesh and fat to buffer its structure. In a distinctly suppler style. Finishes with sweet tannins."

Staff Image

2005 Araujo "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $275.00.

Auction Ending on August 23, 2013 1:30 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Araujo "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 95ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by beautiful aromas of blueberries, black currants, acacia flowers, licorice, and spice. The tannins are softer than I remember, but this is certainly one of the vintage’s most extraordinary wines. Full-bodied with a seamless integration of tannin, acidity, alcohol, and wood, it is exceptionally pure and full as well as impeccably balanced. The impression is one of elegance allied with substantial flavor authority. It can be drunk now or cellared for 25+ years."

Staff Image

2001 Araujo "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $520.00.

Auction Ending on August 22, 2013 3:30 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Araujo "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A compelling example of this noble terroir in the northeastern sector of Napa Valley, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard still has a dense purple color and possesses a seamless personality with spectacular notes of licorice, incense, black raspberries, black currants, crushed rock, and spring flowers. Stunningly full-bodied, multi-layered, with great purity and expression, this fabulous wine is still youthful but very accessible, as the tannins are velvety and well-integrated. This wine will keep aging beautifully for a minimum of another quarter century. Bravo!"

Staff Image

2008 Arietta "Quartet" Napa Valley Red Blend Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $70.00.

Auction Ending on August 21, 2013 11:30 AM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Arietta "Quartet" Napa Valley Red Blend (90ST). Stephen Tanzer: "Bright, deep red-ruby. Reticent aromas and flavors of currant and smoky oak; the most forward of these 2008 reds today. Supple, broad and sweet; not as dense as its 2008 siblings, but finishes with good length and aromatic lift. The substantial dusty tannins turned a bit dry with air. Winemaker Erickson describes this cuvee as Arietta's restaurant wine."

Staff Image

2011 Aubert "CIX" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay Starting bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $90.00.

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 12:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Aubert "CIX" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (92WS, 91RP). Wine Spectator: "Exhibits a rich core of citrus, ripe pear, honeysuckle, hazelnut and green apple flavors, tightly wound with lively acidity. Ends with a long, persistent finish and a crushed rock minerality."

Staff Image

2004 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $167.00.

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (95ST, 94WS, 93RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Slightly hazy appearance. Musky, highly complex aromas of crystallized lemon peel, pineapple and smoke. Fat and sweet but shapely, with wonderfully tactile flavors of pineapple, grapefruit and minerals. As round and seamlessly sweet as this is, there's a restraint to the fruit thanks to its terrific acid/alcohol balance. Finishes chewy and gripping, with powerful ripe fruit flavors."

Staff Image

2010 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $371.00.

Auction Ending on August 23, 2013 12:30 PM PST

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Pinot Noir UV Vineyard comes across as very tight, but then opens up, with plums, black cherries, tar, minerals and licorice some of the nuances taking shape in the glass. The 2010 UV needs another year or two in bottle at the very least. There is an element of unrestrained wildness that runs through the 2010 UV. The heavy presence of clay in this site comes through in the wine’s broad-shouldered personality. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020. "

Staff Image

Needs to soften, and promises to be a real winner."

Staff Image

2010 Bedrock Wine Co. "T'n'S Hudson Vineyard South" Syrah Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $115.00.

Auction Ending on August 24, 2013 12:30 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Bedrock Wine Co. "T 'n' S Hudson Vineyard South" Syrah (94RP, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Syrah Hudson T'n'S comes across as dark and brooding. Smoke, game, tar, scorched earth, bacon fat and black cherries are some of the many notes that emerge from this dramatic, large-scaled wine. Firm, yet well-integrated tannins frame a chewy finish layered with intense, delineated fruit. This is a highly promising wine that needs time. The T'n'S bottling comes from the southern part of the Hudson Vineyard. It was made with 45% whole clusters and a small addition of co-fermented Viognier (2%). The wine was not racked until it was bottled."

The winery writes, "Overall, the 2000 Napa Valley growing season was very cool and moderate, save for a few advantageous warm spells. Bud-break and fruit-set was normal. Moderately warm, sunny days from June to September kept the clusters' development on-track through a pleasant summer."

Staff Image

1999 Beringer Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Horizontal Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $125.00.

Staff Image

2003 Blankiet "Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $302.00.

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 12:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Blankiet "Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are just over 1000 cases of the Cabernet Sauvignon, which is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the hillsides of the Blankiet estate. The 2003, showing an almost liqueur of rocks character, is a huge, gigantic Cabernet Sauvignon that is intense purple in color, very full-bodied, with notes of coffee, graphite, blackberry, blueberry, and cassis. The striking minerality comes forth in the flavors as well, and the wine reveals refined, but high tannins, a massive texture, and awesome concentration. Give this wine 4-5 years of bottle age and drink it over the following 30 years. It is a stunning Cabernet Sauvignon that is showing even better out of bottle that it did from barrel."

Staff Image

2003 Bond "Matriarch" Napa Valley Red Blend Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $218.00.

Auction Ending on August 23, 2013 3:30 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Bond "Matriarch" Napa Valley Red Blend (94WE, 90RP). Wine Enthusiast: "This second label of Bond is so rich and opulent, it’s hard to believe it’s the least expensive of Harlan’s stable. Masses of cherries, blackberries, chocolate and vanilla-caramel new oak, accented with mint and herbs, leading to a refined, smoothly tannic finish. Just delicious."

Staff Image

1994 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $1,319.00.

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 5:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The opaque purple/black color is followed by a full-bodied wine stacked and packed with fruit, glycerin, and extract. No component part is out of place in this formidably endowed, remarkably well-balanced wine. The purity, richness, sweetness and depth of fruit suggest that the wine's potential is limitless. Much like its cellarmate, the 1994 Colgin Cabernet Sauvignon (also made by Helen Turley), the Bryant Family Vineyard's 1994 should evolve into one of California's legendary Cabernets."

Staff Image

1997 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $1,920.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 5:30 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1997 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I have consumed several bottles of the 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill. One of the most awesome young reds I have ever tasted, it possesses a black/purple color, a seamless texture, and freakishly high levels of intensity (cassis, black and blueberries infused with espresso, chocolate, and licorice) that are flawlessly presented in a full-bodied, massive yet elegant wine. Nothing is out of balance in this explosively rich, thick, highly-extracted Cabernet. A compelling, historic Cabernet Sauvignon, it will drink well for 30-35 years. It is not too much to suggest that in the future, Bryant's Pritchard Hill Cabernet Sauvignon might well be one of the wines that redefines greatness in Cabernet Sauvignon."

Staff Image

2001 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $195.00.

Bid on this bottle of 2001 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91WS, 90RP). Wine Spectator: "Undeniably ripe and fleshy, with a pretty scent of cedary oak leading to a supple core of currant and red cherry flavors that are fine and persistent on the finish. Needs time to shed its fine-grained tannins. The flavors are long and persistent on the finish, though it shows simpler than it did from barrel."

"A big, thick, over-the-top style, but well done. Captures lots of rich, ripe, exotic Cabernet flavors, with hints of plum, raisin, black cherry, black olive and tar. A touch alcoholic, but still very well balanced, finishing with thick tannins and good length." - Wine Spectator

2009 Calera "Jensen" Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $340.00.

Auction Ending on August 21, 2013 12:30 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Calera "Jensen" Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir (97RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard is the biggest and richest of the 2009s. It boasts stunning depth in its dark fruit, licorice, spices and sweet balsamic notes. Layers of fruit totally saturate the palate as this utterly majestic Pinot opens up in the glass. The sheer depth and nuance of the Jensen is simply breathtaking. Readers will have to be patient, as the Jensen is very much built for the cellar. It is an American classic to savor and enjoy to age 20 and perhaps beyond."

Staff Image

2009 Calera "Mills Vineyard" Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $186.00.

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Calera "Mills Vineyard" Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir (95RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A deceptively medium-bodied wine, the 2009 Pinot Noir Mills Vineyard possesses stunning balance of fruit, acidity and structure, along with superb integration of the whole clusters. There is a mid-palate pliancy and richness to the 2009 that is simply breathtaking. The Mills is all about elegance. Hints of pine, menthol and chalk linger in the empty glass."

Staff Image

2010 Carlisle Syrah Tasting Lot Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $126.00.

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 2:30 PM PST

Of the "Papa's Block," Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes, "Inky ruby. Wild, heady bouquet evokes candied dark berries, potpourri, sandalwood and olive tapenade. Lush, palate-staining blueberry and mulberry flavors show outstanding clarity and intensity, with sexy floral pastille and spicecake nuances building with air. Packs a very serious punch but possesses unlikely vivacity and finishes long and sappy, with strong spicy cut. By the standards of high-end syrah, from anywhere, this is a remarkable value."

Staff Image

2000 Colgin "Cariad" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $456.25.

Auction Ending on August 22, 2013 4:30 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Colgin "Cariad" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Composed of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, I originally rated this 650-case cuvee 94 points. It is a lighter, softer, more velvety textured version of the 1999. A dense plum/purple color is followed by sweet cranberry, black raspberry, roasted herb, coffee bean, white chocolate and subtle barbecue smoke characteristics. This medium to full-bodied, velvety textured, fully mature 2000 should offer beautiful drinking for another decade."

Staff Image

1996 Colgin "Herb Lamb Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $770.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 5:30 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Colgin "Herb Lamb Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 93ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The saturated black/purple-colored 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Herb Lamb Vineyard displays this winery's hallmark - a provocative nose of blueberry jam, orchid flowers, and smoky new oak intertwined with cassis. Additional aromas of licorice and exotic Asian spices emerge as the wine sits in the glass. Extremely full-bodied and rich, with more noticeable tannin than the 1997, this large-scaled yet extraordinarily rich wine is like drinking cassis/blueberry liqueur. Its sweet tannin and remarkable 40+-second finish are amazing."

Staff Image

2006 Colgin "IX Estate" Napa Valley Proprietary Red Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $1,219.00.

It, too, reveals the noble sweetness of tannin, the extraordinary rich, intense mouthfeel, and sumptuous aromas of flowers, burning embers, blackberries, blueberries, spice box, and cedar. With extraordinary intensity, beautiful purity, a texture and flavors that build incrementally on the palate, and a significantly long finish, this is a perfect wine."

Staff Image

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Colgin "Tychson Hill Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Tychson Hill Vineyard is classic as well as a pure expression of Cabernet Sauvignon’s creme de cassis, tobacco, cedary character. Expressive, rich, medium to full-bodied flavors, terrific ripeness, and surprising tannin and persistence are found in this pure 2000. Drink it over the next 12-15 years."

Staff Image

2007 Dehlinger "Estate" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $205.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 1:30 PM PST

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Dehlinger "Estate" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (95CG, 93RP, 92ST, 91WS). Connoisseurs Guide: "Tom Dehlinger has never been one to hold back on Pinot Noir and leaves the making of delicate wine to others, and his style can be no better seen than in this bold and deeply filled effort. When, as in such stellar harvests as 2007, all the pieces fall into place, even the naysayers who cannot see past alcohol content are bound to be taken with the kind of richness and wonder-fully concentrated fruit that this deep, remarkably well-balanced bottling shows. It will hold and improve for many more years, but whether drunk now or saved for later, it needs to be paired with appropriately rich foods."

Staff Image

1992 Dominus "Napanook Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $420.00.

Auction Ending on August 24, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3 - bottle lot of 1992 Dominus "Napanook Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP,92ST). "The 1992 Dominus is similar in style to the 1990. It exhibits an open knit, opulent, rich, easy-going character with gorgeous levels of earthy, cassis fruit intertwined with scents of herbs, coffee, and chocolate/mocha ice cream. Rich and full-bodied, with thick, viscous flavors and low acidity, this is a forward, exceptionally concentrated, easy to understand Dominus that should drink well for 20 years." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (1995)

Staff Image

1994 Dominus Estate "Napanook Vineyard" Napa Valley Proprietary Red Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $655.00.

Auction Ending on August 22, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Dominus Estate "Napanook Vineyard" Napa Valley Proprietary Red (99RP, 93ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 is a strikingly thick, compellingly rich wine with the texture of a great Pomerol, despite being made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine exhibits a dense purple color, and an incredibly fragrant nose of jammy black fruits, spice, smoke, and loamy, truffle-like scents. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, with thrilling levels of extract and richness, but no sense of heaviness or harshness. This seamless Dominus possesses no hard edges, as its acidity, tannin, and alcohol are beautifully meshed with copious quantities of ripe fruit."

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1999 Dominus Napa Valley Proprietary Red (OWC - 91RP, 91ST, 91WE) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium to deep garnet colour. Dried cherry, mulberry, loam, espresso and tobacco aromas with a hint of dried mint. On the palate a savoury / meaty character comes through. A firm backbone of high acidity and a medium+ level of firm tannins give good structure. Medium to full bodied, very long finish."

Auction Ending on August 21, 2013 12:30 PM PST

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2007 Dunn "Howell Mountain" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is unlike any wine I have ever tasted from Dunn. Layer after layer of flavor saturates the palate in this opulent, full-throttle Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2007 possesses dazzling textural richness, depth and sheer intensity. Purists may prefer more structured vintages, but for a producer known for such slow maturing wines, the 2007 is a huge pleasure to taste today."

1996 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $286.00.

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 2:30 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The opaque blue/purple-colored 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa boasts an exceptional nose of creme de cassis, minerals, and spice. It takes at least a decade for wines such as this to begin to reveal more identity and vintage character. The cassis/blackberry liqueur-like fruit are present, as are mouthsearing levels of tannin and impressive extract. This blockbuster should be at its peak between 2010-2040. If Godzilla drank California Cabernet Sauvignon, would there be any doubt as to what choice it would be?"

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 12:30 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Etude Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 94WS, 93WE, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The blockbuster 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa came from two sources, the Morisoli Vineyard in St. Helena and the Cohn Vineyard in Rutherford (the source for the famous Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon). This fabulous, dense ruby/purple wine is a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. It exhibits a deep creme de cassis nose with hints of charcoal, graphite and spring flowers. Full-bodied, rich and youthful, it appears to have at least 20 years of life left in it. This is a wine that clearly flew under the radar, and if it can still be found and the provenance is excellent, it is definitely a big-time buy. "

The 2006 exhibits all the classic Trilogy attributes with a lovely cassis and cherry bouquet, as well as huge black fruit flavors that envelop the palate. Each varietal is vital to the outcome: the Cabernet exhibits black cherry and dark cocoa character, while the Merlot carries these flavors to the back of the palate where the Cabernet Franc adds notes of coffee and toffee to the finish.

1991 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $1,552.00.

Auction Ending on August 22, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1991 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a profoundly great wine. It came across in a blind tasting as one of the most remarkable wines there, with most tasters mistaking it for a first-growth Medoc. The wine revealed an opaque purple color, a fabulously complex, sweet nose of minerals, fruitcake, cedar, toasty new oak, and pure blackcurrant fruit. Although huge in the mouth, the wine is remarkably well-balanced, with its high tannin level well-concealed by copious quantities of sweet ripe fruit, as well as huge amounts of glycerin and extract."

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2007 Harlan Estate reminds me of a hypothetical blend of the 2002 with a touch of the controversial 1997. Dense plum/purple-colored with sweet aromas of barbecue smoke, blueberries, blackberries, cassis, licorice, hot rocks and subtle oak, it is a splendidly opulent, pure wine with a skyscraper-like texture as well as stunningly deep fruit that expands gracefully across the palate. The finish lasts nearly a full minute."

Complex, maturing nose with notes of warm blackberry, game, dried plums, moss, white pepper, Provence herbs and a whiff of iron ore. The palate reveals a concentrated, medium to full bodied wine balanced by medium acidity and a medium to firm level of velvety tannins. Very long finish departing with lingering savoury and mineral flavours." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2009)

It is one of the most concentrated and complete red wines one could hope to taste."

"Smooth and polished, with intense cherry, currant, mint and herb aromas and flavors framed by hints of cedar. A bit tannic, but balanced, and almost elegant right through the finish. A youthful wine that can use until 1996 or '97 to buff the edges." - Wine Spectator (1991)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 96WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Insignia (a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc) is spectacular. I have had the wine a half-dozen or more times, and it is unquestionably opulent, sexy, flamboyant, explosively rich, concentrated, and a thrill to drink. Already gorgeous, it promises to evolve gracefully for two decades or more. The color is a healthy saturated dark purple. The spicy nose offers aromas of black currants, allspice, pain grille, and soy, with scents of a burning wood fire thrown in for additional complexity. This full-bodied, opulent, dazzling wine is exhilarating to drink. Joseph Phelps is doing a phenomenal job with their Insignia."

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97WE, 95RP, 94WS, 93ST). Wine Enthusiast: "Tasted in October, 2007, the wine was mute, offering little aromatically except for teasing notes of blackberries and oak. That shyness extended to the taste, where strong, hard tannins provide an almost impenetrable coat of armor to what’s inside. But right down the middle of the palate is a deep, intensely powerful stream of perfectly ripened cassis that’s all the proof you need of ageability. This is a magnificently structured young wine, reminiscent of a fine young Pauillac."

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 1:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 1993 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 90WS).Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As I reported last year, the 1993 Insignia is one of northern California's most impressive wines...the 1993 Insignia possesses a dense, almost opaque ruby/purple color, as well as a huge, sweet nose of blackcurrants, fruitcake, spice, and vanilla. This classic, rich wine, with a sweet, ripe mid-palate, displays a full-bodied, layered, super-concentrated personality. Although still a baby in terms of development, it is remarkably successful because of the ripe tannin, high glycerin, and intensity of fruit. It will easily last for two decades, although I suspect most of it will be consumed within 7-10 hours of purchase."

The bouquet begins with fruity aromas of dried cherries, blueberries and cassis and is followed by spicy aromatic notes of sage and sassafras. The mouthfeel of the wine is full bodied with well-structured tannins, flavors of pomegranate and hints of vanilla. This wine is delicious now and should continue to improve for at least a decade."

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Kutch "McDougal Ranch" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Pinot Noir McDougall Ranch is the tightest and most structured of the 2010s. Firm yet well-integrated tannins form the backbone in this primal, intense Pinot. Unlike the other 2010s here, the McDougall is likely to require several years to fully hit its stride. Bright, floral notes contribute to a sense of total freshness, especially on the finish."

2011 Kutch "Savoy Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $135.00.

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 2:00 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Kutch "Savoy Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard is gorgeous, resonant and pure. Savory herbs, licorice, mint and leather rise from the glass. A deeply expressive wine, the 2011 Savoy is simply compelling from start to finish. The use of 80% whole clusters means the 2011 will require some patience to fully come together, but it is hugely attractive, even now. This is one of the softest, most impeccably crafted wines I have ever tasted from Jamie Kutch. Sadly, 2011 is Kutch's last from this site in Anderson Valley. The 2011 vintage was especially challenging in Anderson Valley, but Jamie Kutch found a way to get the very best possible from the year. This is a fabulous 2011."

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (96RP, 96WS). "Buttery brioche, honeyed citrus, caramelized pear and lemon, and a distinct earthy aroma jump from the glass of this light medium gold-colored wine. More buttery than most Marcassin Chardonnays, with good acidity, this deep, rich, full-bodied beauty is somewhat outclassed by some of the compelling efforts that have been produced at this magical vineyard." -Robert Parker

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard is less flamboyant than the ostentatious Blue Slide cuvee. It exhibits more animal, plum, raspberry, and earthy characteristics (meaty porchinis come to mind) in its broodingly backward, mineral-dominated personality. Additionally, there is great structure and purity, as well as layers of fruit and intensity."

Aromas of cassis, blackberry, licorice and cocoa powder. Extremely primary and dense, with a salty complexity to the rich flavors of crushed berries, violet and bitter chocolate. Big, rich and tactile wine, finishing with serious but noble tannins and a lingering note of dark chocolate. A bit lower in pH than the Georges III but every bit as sexy today in spite of its youth."

The wine, a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot, and 1% Malbec, possesses a dark ruby/purple color, followed by a generous, complex nose of lead pencil, toasty oak, violets, and black currants. In the mouth, there is a beautiful texture, soft, generous, low acid, full-bodied richness, and a stunningly proportioned, rich, intense finish. The influence of 18 months in new French oak casks gives the wine a subtle oaky note in addition to giving it excellent delineation. Because of the wine's softness and generosity, it can be drunk now as well as over the next 18-20 years."

2005 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Sonoma County Chardonnay (1.5L) Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $410.00.

Auction Ending on August 23, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this magnum of 2005 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Sonoma County Chardonnay (1.5L) (97RP, 94ST). "The 2005 Chardonnay Point Rouge has that light goldish-greenish hue to its color, much like the other wines, deep, full-bodied flavors, great ripeness, but more restraint, structure, and almost a sense of tannin given the wine’s firmness. This is a beauty, but given the higher acids in 2005, I would age this for another 6-12 months before I began drinking it. Having said that, I have already consumed two bottles of my allocation at charity events, and they were huge hits with the participants. This wine should age for at least 10+ years." - Robert Parker

Of the 2007, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes, "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon cuvee from Plumpjack’s Oakville ranch, where Nils Venge once made the famed Cabernet Sauvignons under the Villa Mt. Eden label. (The 1974s and 1978s are still going strong.) Floral notes intermixed with creme de cassis, white chocolate, plum, and licorice characteristics are followed by a wine with supple tannins, fabulous concentration, a multilayered mouthfeel, and a finish that lasts 40+ seconds. This incredible Cabernet can be drunk now or cellared for 20-25 years."

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard comes from the fifth leaf of this estate vineyard and in this vintage contains 4.5% Merlot. The wine was aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak. Opaque purple-colored, its distinctive aromatics leap from the glass. Toasty oak, scorched earth, a hint of truffle, black cherry, black raspberry, and blackberry liqueur aromas are quite mesmerizing. On the palate, this sizable effort is firm, full-bodied, and structured, demanding 6-8 years of cellaring..."

Opulent and mouth-coating, the layers of complex flavors nearly hide enough tannin to support 8-10 years of additional cellaring. The oak, tannin, and acidity are beautifully integrated and the lengthy finish lasts for well over a minute."

Auction Ending on August 21, 2013 1:30 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 1973 Ridge Monte Bello Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon. Robert Parker on the Ridge: "As most passionate amateurs of California wine know, this is one of the longest-lived red wines produced in California. Having reviewed close to 40 vintages of their flagship wine, the mostly Cabernet Sauvignon blend from their Monte Bello vineyards, I can only concur that this wine ages as well as a great first-growth from Bordeaux. It can often need a good 20 years minimum before it sheds its overlay of wood and tannin."

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Rivers-Marie "Corona Vineyard" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Roberto Corona Vineyard has come together beautifully since I last tasted it. A rich sumptuous wine, the 2010 caresses the palate with layers of dark fruit, spices, menthol and licorice. The dark fruit and intense spices are pure Oakville. The French oak, which was quite noticeable last year, has integrated beautifully. The Corona is totally different than the Panek, but just as beautiful. In 2010 I have a slight preference for the Corona over the Panek, but both are striking and absolutely delicious."

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Rivers-Marie "Panek Vineyard" St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Panek Vineyard bursts from the glass with juicy dark red fruit. Supple, silky and easygoing, the 2010 nevertheless possesses plenty of underlying acidity and structure. Hints of cinnamon, cloves and dried flowers add lift on the dense, intense finish. The 2010 is ripe, juicy and totally irresistible."

From the winery: "Our 2008 Estate Library Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is made from carefully selected grapes grown on our estate vineyard and is barrel aged for 37 months in softly toasted, 100% French Oak. This wine displays the elegance, flavors and structure that epitomizes the best of a Rutherford grown Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose is filled with blackberry, dark cherry, nutmeg and a hint of toasty vanilla, while the palate shows additional flavors of cocoa, bing cherry and hints of cedar. Enjoy the long, dusty finish that is true to the Rutherford appellation with dinner tonight, or gracefully age this wine for an additional 10+ years."

Bid on this magnum of 2005 Saxum "Bone Rock" James Berry Vineyard Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (96RP, 95ST, 94WE, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A sensational effort, the 2005 Bone Rock James Berry Vineyard is a combination of 93% Syrah and 7% Grenache. This decadently gorgeous, lavishly concentrated, stunningly pure wine was aged in demi-muids/pungeons. A terrific texture is accompanied by a sumptuous bouquet and equally prodigious flavors of kirsch, cassis, licorice, smoke, and crushed rocks. It still has some structure to resolve, but this fabulous effort should hit its stride in 2-3 years, and keep for 12-15 years. The bottled 2005s are all performing well. "

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 12:30 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (94RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Broken Stones, a blend of 74% Syrah, 24% Grenache, and the rest Mourvedre, is a beauty. Notes of licorice, forest floor, pepper, spice box, and loads of black and red fruits jump from the glass as well as saturate the palate. This full-bodied, opulent wine has crisp acidity, some heady alcohol, and loads of flavor, depth, and richness. It is a savory wine to drink now and over the next 7-10 years."

2009 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Syrah Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $330.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 2:30 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Syrah (96RP, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Broken Stones is sourced from all of the estate’s vineyards, which in this vintage includes Padereweski fruit for the first time, although most of the fruit was sourced from James Berry. Today it comes across as rather tightly wound and implosive, although with air the wine’s potential becomes more evident. Dark cherries, licorice and smoke wrap around the intense finish. Floral notes add the final layers of complexity and nuance. This is another fabulous effort."

Rose petals and a hint of sweet spices add lift on an energetic, intense finish layered with huge dark red fruit."

Auction Ending on August 24, 2013 1:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (98RP, 97JS, 97WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Simply put, the 2009 James Berry Vineyard is one of the greatest young wines I have ever tasted from California, or anywhere for that matter. Bright, floral aromatics lead to expressive red fruit in this impossibly elegant, dazzling wine. A melange of rose petals, mint and licorice follows as the James Berry shows off its breathtaking clarity and finesse. Fine-grained, chalky tannins frame the exceptional finish. Frankly, I am surprised this is the first wine of the tasting. Where does one go from here?"

2008 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $1,300.00.

Auction Ending on August 24, 2013 5:30 PM PST

Bid on this magnum of 2008 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another candidate for perfection, the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Sparky comes from Clone 4, Clone 6 and Clone 337 although Clone 6 dominates the blend. Also a monumental wine, it is not as nuanced as the CCS or the RBS, but it possesses serious minerality as well as huge notes of tobacco leaf, pain grille, spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, and licorice in both the aromatic and flavor profiles. The finish is endless in this super-intense, rich wine. Like all these wines, it is a 25- to 40-year effort although the sweetness of the tannin and the emerging complexity permits enjoyment even at this infantile stage."

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 6:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 97WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Once again, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon pays homage to the 2007, but the aromas and flavors seems to be just a touch brighter, which might just be a function of the wine’s age. A wine of remarkable precision, the 2009 is totally dialed in from start to finish. Layers of intensely sweet, perfumed fruit are woven together with remarkable elegance and sheer polish."

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 94CG, 94ST, 94WS). Connoisseurs Guide: "Another very bold and impressively concentrated effort, the 1999 bottling is a broad, many faceted Cabernet whose ample ripeness and generous appointment of rich oak are always complementary themes to its deep, vital, very well-focused fruit. It is still a young wine with a very long lifeline, yet, even now, it has bloomed into a *** beauty that will tempt present drinking. Originally reviewed at **."

Of the 1995, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes, "The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select possesses lots of fatness in the mid-palate. There is plenty of tannin in this full-bodied, rich effort. It is remarkable how the finest California Cabernets combine extraordinary power and richness with balance and elegance. A stupendous wine, it is worth a special effort to obtain."

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 1:30 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Sine Qua Non "Atlantis fe203-1a" Syrah (100RP, 94-95ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The perfect 2005 Syrah Atlantis Fe 203-1a,b,c is a blend of 93%Syrah,5% Grenache, and 2% Viognier, with 25% whole clusters...An extraordinarily flowery nose interwoven with scents of blueberries, blackberries, incense, and graphite soars from the glass. Although not the biggest or most concentrated Syrah Krankl has made, it is one of the most nuanced, elegant, and complex. It remains full-bodied, but builds incrementally on the palate, and comes across as elegant and delicate, especially when compared to many California Syrahs. Nevertheless, the intensity is mind-boggling, and the finish lasts for nearly a minute. Drink this amazing effort over the next 10-15+ years."

It shows the medium-bodied personality of the vintage in its energetic, nuanced fruit and notable persistence. Layers of fruit build to a refined finish laced with blueberries, blackberries, violets and crushed rocks. All the registers -- from low to high -- are filled out."

1997 Sine Qua Non "Imposter McCoy" Santa Barbara County Syrah Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $1,901.00.

Auction Ending on August 22, 2013 5:30 PM PST

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1997 Sine Qua Non "Imposter McCoy" Santa Barbara County Syrah (96RP, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The funky artwork on the bottle emerges from Manfred Krankl's artistic side, but as the label says, "the truth is in the inside." I have already wolfed down two bottles of the 1997 Imposter McCoy (529 cases) with equally voracious friends. A thick, juicy, massive Syrah, it gushes copious quantities of licorice-infused blackberry fruit offering smoke, coffee, and meaty notes. The wine is mouth-filling, teeth-staining, and loaded. Its high alcohol (15.3%), glycerin level, and low acidity make it easy to drink, but I suspect it will age easily for 10-20+ years."

2008 Sine Qua Non "The Duel" Syrah Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $345.00.

Auction Ending on August 24, 2013 1:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Sine Qua Non "The Duel" Syrah (97RP, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is fascinating to taste the 2008 Syrah Estate The Duel next to the Grenache The Duel. Endless layers of seamless fruit are woven together in this utterly impeccable, full-bodied wine. The 2008 boasts dazzling richness and sheer power. It is pretty clear that in 2008 the Syrah did better than the Grenache with extended time in barrel. Violets, mint, tar and licorice flesh out on the huge, explosive finish. It will be interesting to see how the 2008 develops. Today, it is pretty special. The 2008 is 88% Syrah, 6% Grenache and 6% Viognier, all from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard. A small portion of the Syrah was vinified with whole clusters. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023."

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Sine Qua Non "The Raven No. 4" Syrah (96RP, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Raven Series Syrah, a blend of 93% Syrah, 5% Grenache, and 2% Viognier that spends just under two years in French oak. Offering a dense purple color, gorgeous fruit, and a sweet perfume of graphite, blackberries, blueberries, charcoal, licorice, tar, and new oak, it is a dense, full-bodied, well-endowed, beautifully layered, pure Syrah that should drink well for 10-15 years."

2001 Sine Qua Non "Ventriloquist" Central Coast Grenache Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $235.00.

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 2001 Sine Qua Non "Ventriloquist" Central Coast Grenache. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This was the only wine in the entire tasting that refused to open and fully reveal itself. It is a blend of 82% Grenache and 18% Syrah, with much of it coming from the Alban Vineyard and the balance from the Stolpman Vineyard and the Shadow Canyon Vineyard further north. I would liked to have had a crack at another bottle, but this wine came across as very tightly knit, with far higher acids, giving the wine a more austere and tart quality. It did possess some nice, attractive black fruits, damp earth, spice box and hints of licorice and pepper..."

1976 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "SLV, Lot 2" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $580.00.

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 2:00 PM PST

Bid on this 10-bottle lot of 1976 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "SLV, Lot 2" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine exhibits a solid, plummy color with amber at the edge. A dusty, earthy nose reveals plenty of ripe, plummy, jammy cherry scents, intertwined with aromas of saddle leather, licorice, and earth. This spicy, chocolatey style of wine has a certain hardness, but there is enough fruit to make the wine interesting and vibrant. My instincts suggest it is unlikely to attain complete harmony, but it is a gutsy, beefy effort that is atypically muscular for a wine from this producer."

Bid on this 2 - bottle lot of 2000 Turley "Estate" Napa Valley Zinfandel (93RP). "The dark ruby/purple-colored 2000 Zinfandel Estate reveals an undeniable Chateauneuf du Pape-like character. Notes of pepper, dried Provencal herbs, earth, black currants, and kirsch liqueur soar from this full-bodied, moderately tannic, dense, chewy, savory 2000. The wine possesses exceptional complexity as well as length. Its 15.1% alcohol is hidden beneath a cascade of glycerin and extract." - Robert Parker

Of the 2005, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes, "Medium red. Sexy, open-knit red berry and floral scents, with a subtle hint of anise. Suave, silky and bright, with energetic raspberry and wild strawberry flavors gently lifted by soft acids. Fills out on the finish, which displays impressive depth and lingering sweetness."

2005 Williams-Selyem Pinot Noir Horizontal Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $410.00.

Of the "Flax," Wine Enthusiast writes, "A brilliant young Pinot that magically combines instant drinkability with ageworthiness. Silky and supple, the wine has broad, deep raspberry, cherry, cola, cocoa and spice flavors that are wrapped into sweet, fine tannins, leading to a long, complicated finish. Just gorgeous from the first sniff to the last sip, and should age well through 2015."

2004-2005 Williams-Selyem "Ferrington" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Vertical Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $176.09.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 2:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle vertical of Williams-Selyem "Ferrington" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, comprising of a single bottle of the 2004 (91CG) and two bottles of the 2005 (95WE, 92ST). Of the 2005, Wine Enthusiast writes, "Even in its extreme youth, this lovely Pinot shows a supple elegance that’s almost drinkable now. Almost, but not quite. The tannins are ripe and smooth but thick, and the young raspberry, cherry and tangerine fruit needs time to develop and mesh with the oak. But it’s a beautiful wine, Williams Selyem’s best Ferrington in memory, and a near-perfect expression of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir."

2003 Ausone, St-Emilion (OWC) Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $4,900.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 6:00 PM PST

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2003 Ausone, St-Emilion (OWC - 100RP, 96WS, 95ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Ausone is off the charts in terms of richness. While I gave a 3-digit score to the 2000, I think this profoundly concentrated wine may be even more sublime and exotic. Its inky/blue/purple color is followed by an extraordinary perfume of flowers, crushed rocks, sweet raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and God knows what else. The impression is one of extraordinary richness and purity, and a multilayered texture yet a surreal lightness as well as laser-like precision. This exquisite offering must be tasted to be believed."

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2001 Bois de Boursan "Cuvée Felix" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96WS, 95RP). Wine Spectator: "This is always one of the most distinctive wines in the appellation, with garrigue, lavender, smoldering tobacco and roasted chestnut notes driving to the fore, backed by dense layers of roasted fig, mulled currant fruit and hoisin sauce. The long, pebbly, iron-filled finish is simultaneously chewy and racy."

1998 Carruades de Lafite, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $570.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 6:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Carruades de Lafite, Pauillac (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This has become one of the finest second wines produced. The 1998 (a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 4.5% Cabernet Franc, and 1.5% Petit Verdot) is an outstanding effort. While very Lafite-like (although more supple and forward), it exhibits a dense ruby/purple color in addition to an excellent bouquet of black fruits, smoke, earth, and minerals, supple tannin, an excellent texture, and a long, fine finish."

2004 Chapoutier "Le Meal" Ermitage Blanc Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $441.00.

Auction Ending on August 24, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Chapoutier "Le Meal" Ermitage Blanc (100RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Ermitage Le Meal blanc (266 cases) is total perfection in the bottle. Of course, this is supposedly the vineyard that so impressed Thomas Jefferson when he visited Hermitage in the late 1700s. Boasting an amazing concentrated essence of licorice, minerals, acacia flowers, and buttery honey, the wine is viscous, super-thick, rich, and mind-blowingly intense. Having just had an utterly perfect bottle of DRC 1973 Montrachet, I couldn’t help but think that this wine may well be even younger at a similar age. "

Of the 1995, Robert Parker writes, "The 1995 Monbazillac exhibits a deep golden color, an orange marmalade, tropical fruit-scented (pineapple and coconut) nose, super-extracted, awesomely rich, pure, and well-delineated flavors, full body, an unctuous texture, and dazzling length. This amazing wine should evolve for 15-20 years."

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion (95-97WE, 94ST, 93WS, 93RP). Wine Enthusiast: "A wine that goes instantly for juiciness. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Clos Fourtet, St-Emilion (100RP, 95WE, 94JS, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "After tasting it three times from bottle, I am convinced this prodigious wine is one of the greatest young Bordeaux I have ever tasted. Inky blue/purple with notes of camphor, forest floor, blackberry, cassis, sweet cherries, licorice, the wine has stunning aromatics, unctuous texture and an almost inky concentration, but without any hard edges. With considerable tannin and just enough acidity to provide definition, this wine transcends even its premier grand cru classe terroir. It is certainly the finest Clos Fourtet ever produced."

Of the Meyney, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes, "The 1982 Meyney is in that beautiful window of drinkability, revealing a dark, nearly opaque garnet color, excellent concentration, initially plenty of brett (which blows off with aeration), and copious aromas of black fruit, licorice, loamy soil, smoked meat, and a hint of leather. This fleshy wine is capable of lasting another 5-8 years. A wonderful sleeper of the vintage, it may be the finest Meyney ever produced."

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine de la Janasse "Chaupin" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (OWC - 98RP, 95ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Chaupin rivals the 2007 Chaupin (to date the best Chaupin I have yet tasted). Made from 100% Grenache (3/4 destemmed), it boasts a dense black/purple color as well as unbelievable notes of raspberries, black cherries, licorice, truffles, camphor, forest floor and garrigue. This wine is stunningly concentrated, incredibly noble, precise and expansive on the palate with mouth-saturating intensity, glycerin and extract. It is an amazing example of impeccably grown old vine Grenache translated into a natural yet full-throttle red."

Auction Ending on August 24, 2013 4:30 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Domaine des Baumard Quarts de Chaume (96WS, 96RP). "The Quarts de Chaume displays honeysuckle, liquid minerals and touches of almond paste aromatically as well as a stunning, driven character with virtually perfect harmony and balance between its sweet super-ripe fruit and acidity. This floral and quince-laden, well-delineated wine has a seemingly unending finish. Anticipated maturity: 1999-2030+." -Robert Parker

1997 Domaine des Baumard Quarts de Chaume Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $166.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 12:30 PM PST

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1997 Domaine des Baumard Quarts de Chaume (94RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Baumard's 1997 Quarts de Chaume has been tasted five times over a six month period and it is a remarkably consistent wine. With extended aeration it appears to gain in focus and freshness, a trait that is surprising in the generally heavy and super-ripe 1997 vintage. Caramelized minerals and honeyed aromas are exuded by this dense, oily, jammy wine. On the palate, marzipan, candied grapefruit, and tropical fruits can de detected within its viscous, yet fresh, core."

1998 Domaine du Pégäu "Cuvée da Capo" Châteauneuf-du-Pape Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $400.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 1998 Domaine du Pégäu "Cuvée da Capo" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 98WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The debut vintage for their luxury old-vine cuvee, which is over 90% Grenache, but in theory made from all 13 authorized red wine varietals in Chateauneuf du Pape, the 1998 Cuvee da Capo is a monumental Chateauneuf du Pape. It was actually splendid to drink in its first 5-6 years of life, and then shut down very firmly, and is now just coming out of this dormant period. It is much more delineated than it was in its fat, grapy, almost overripe youthful state, and now shows extraordinary precision and definition."

2010 Domaine Grand Veneur "Vieilles Vignes" Châteauneuf-du-Pape Starting bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $340.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 3:00 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Grand Veneur "Vieilles Vignes" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A monumental effort meriting a perfect score, the super-rich 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is a 4,000-bottle blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah from 55- to 105-year-old vines and was aged for 18 months in small oak. The wine offers majestic blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with kirsch, licorice and subtle Provencal herbs in the background. It is akin to chewing meat in the mouth given its viscosity and thickness. This utterly amazing wine comes close to being over the top, but it pulls back just in time."

Bid on this bottle of 2003 Domaine Ramonet Le Montrachet Grand Cru (94BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As it often is, this is the most complete wine in the cellar with a subtle trace of wood framing gorgeous, elegant and highly complex ripe orchard fruit and white flower aromas that perfectly complement the rich, full and beautifully textured flavors all wrapped in a powerful, long and utterly classy finish. This is an impressive wine on any basis and should drink well over a 20 year period however it will be approachable much sooner than is typical for this wine."

A structured wine with a firm tannic spine and sneaky persistence."

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grands Échézeaux Grand Cru (93WE, 91BH, 90ST). Wine Enthusiast: "Floral, spice and cinnamon notes are evident up front. Smooth, silky tannins frame an elegant array of tangy cherry, strawberry, pepper, sage and earth notes. At its core, there is an herbal note suggestive of cluster stems, adding depth and interest. A big step up from the Echézeaux."

Auction Ending on August 23, 2013 6:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 1986 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grands-Échezeaux Grand Cru (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Grands Echezeaux has super color, a great nose of intense, smoky, exotic Pinot Noir fruit, full body, and plenty of extract as well as tannins. Not as forward as either the 1985 or 1987, the 1986 Grands Echezeaux should be at its best between 1994 and 2008."

Bid on this 1-bottle lot of 1982 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien (96RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1982 is still 5-8 years away from full maturity, but it exhibits a dense ruby/plum/garnet color to the rim as well as a sweet perfume of forest floor, spice box, cedar, and copious quantities of black fruits. Medium to full-bodied and beautifully pure with sweet tannins, this wine has aged more slowly than I initially expected. It is the finest Ducru Beaucaillou produced after the 1961 and before the 2003."

Wine Enthusiast: "Impressively dense, dark flavored wine, very rich and quite extracted. But it still keeps the elegance and some of the freshness of 2004, and there is plenty of blackberry flavor to push the wine along. Heavier than many 2004s, it still shows that great acidity."

Bid on this half-bottle of 1988 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml) (98RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1988 d'Yquem has an incredibly profound nose of orange marmalade, dried apricots, honeycomb, musk and dried pineapple with hints of marzipan and crystallized ginger. The palate is seamless with a great line of crisp acid cutting through the densely packed dried tropical fruit and honeyed flavour layers. The finish just goes on and on."

Bid on this 3L-bottle of 1988 d'Yquem, Sauternes (3L) (99RP, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1988 is a backward-styled Yquem, built along the lines of the extraordinary 1975. With a honeyed, smoky, orange/coconut/pineapple-scented nose, this powerful wine possesses full body, layers of highly concentrated, extracted flavors, considerable botrytis, and a sensational finish."

2009 Fleur Cardinale, St-Emilion (OWC) Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $370.00.

Auction Ending on August 21, 2013 1:00 PM PST

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Fleur Cardinale, St-Emilion (OWC - 94RP, 93JS, 93WS, 92ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A good value among over-achieving St.-Emilion estates is La Fleur Cardinale’s 2009. Composed of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, some of the abrasive tannins noticeable early on in this big wine (14.5% alcohol) are now sweeter and better integrated. Made from tiny yields of 30 hectoliters per hectare, this is a concentrated, rich effort revealing lots of black cherry and black currant fruit as well as a fragrant, firm, full-bodied personality."

1975 Gloria, St. Julien Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $120.00.

Auction Ending on August 22, 2013 3:00 PM PST

Bid on this 2 - bottle lot of 1975 Gloria, St. Julien. "This has always been a very good 1975. Atypically powerful and muscular for Gloria, it exhibits as much fruit as many of the top wines. The opaque garnet color reveals slight amber at the edge. The wine offers a classic St.-Julien/Pauillac aromatic profile (tobacco, cedar, currants) combined with more earthy, dusty notes than usual (blame that on the 1975 vintage). A sweet, rich, chewy attack is followed by a dense, concentrated wine that may suffer from a lack of complexity and finesse, but more than compensates for that deficiency with plenty of muscle, extract, ripeness, and body." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (1996)

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2009 Gloria, St-Julien (OWC - 94JS, 93RP, 92WS, 90WE, 87-90ST) in original wood. James Suckling: "Rich and decadent on the nose, with exotic fruits, spices and incense. Full body, with so much wonderful chocolate, fruit and velvety tannins. It's a joy to taste now, but will give even more pleasure in years to come. Best ever from here and one of the best values of the vintage."

Auction Ending on August 23, 2013 1:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 2000 Gruaud Larose, St-Julien (95WS, 94RP, 94W&S, 93ST). Wine Spectator: "Greatest wine from this estate since 1945. Absolutely wonderful aromas of flowers, currants and citrus. Full-bodied, yet very, very refined, with a center core of fruit that tastes like crushed raspberries. It goes on and on across the palate."

1998 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $77.00.

Auction Ending on August 24, 2013 2:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 1998 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien (90-91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Gruaud-Larose has fashioned an elegant, less rustic wine than previous vintages. The color is a healthy dark ruby/purple. The bouquet offers aromas of plums, black raspberries, and cassis. Stylish, with medium to full body, sweet tannin, and excellent purity as well as overall symmetry, it will drink well between 2004-2016."

1989 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $205.00.

Auction Ending on August 21, 2013 2:00 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1989 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien (94WS, 89ST). Wine Spectator: "Delivers fabulous aromas of crushed red fruits, with leather, tar, tobacco and mint. Full-bodied, offering supersoft and silky tannins, as well as a beautiful polish. Open and luscious, with amazing richness of fruit and decadence at the same time."

2009 Haut-Bergey, Pessac-Léognan Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $250.00.

Auction Ending on August 21, 2013 1:00 PM PST

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Haut-Bergey, Pessac-Léognan (94RP, 93JS, 92ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of just over 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and the balance Merlot (last year I mistakenly wrote that the balance was Cabernet Franc), the opaque ruby/purple-colored 2009 reveals notes of scorched earth/burning embers/charcoal, black currants, ripe cherries and lead pencil shavings. Full-bodied and pure with sweet tannin, this is an under-the-radar, high quality claret to drink over the next 20-25 years."

2001 Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage Rouge Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $530.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 2:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage Rouge (95WS, 94ST, 91-95RP). Wine Spectator: "This is an elegant, sinewy vintage that is just starting to hit its stride, with a strong sanguine and cedar frame to the core of dried red currant, cherry pit and red licorice notes. A racy iron note is now in full throat on the finish. The commanding minerality should carry this through a second stage of life."

2003 Joseph Drouhin Musigny Grand Cru Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $527.78.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 3:00 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Joseph Drouhin Musigny Grand Cru (93BH, 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Don't Miss!* The most complex nose of any of these wines with violets, plum, anise, underbrush, black fruit and smoked meat that is followed by classy and very pure medium full flavors that remain understated despite the ripeness. It sounds odd to describe a wine as subtly powerful but this is discreet in character yet with sneaky punch and length. In a word, terrific. This vies with the Bonnes Mares as the best of the Drouhin '03s."

1996 Krug "Clos d'Ambonnay" Brut Champagne (Gift Box) Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $2,100.00.

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 6:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 1996 Krug "Clos d'Ambonnay" Brut Champagne (Gift Box - 97RP, 92WS) in original gift box. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Clos d’Ambonnay is very similar to the Clos du Mesnil in this vintage. It has the same piercing purity and minerality with the heft of the Pinot still to fully emerge. Hints of menthol, spices and berries wrap around the eternal finish. Clos d’Ambonnay, from a single, walled-in parcel in the village of Ambonnay, is in many ways the red equivalent of Clos du Mesnil."

1996 Krug Brut Champagne Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $360.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 1996 Krug Brut Champagne (100W&S, 99WS, 99ST, 98RP). Wine & Spirits: "It's hard to imagine how a wine of this power can sustain perfect balance. What is now a more nonchalant intensity in the aroma was, in fact, too much to handle when we tasted this last year, as if the wine had no time for mere humans with their limited sense receptors. If you stop to taste ripe pear, ginger spice, apple blossom and butterscotch the wine leaves you lost in random flavor descriptors as it soars off into a vinous glow that lasts for minutes. This may well be the greatest vintage wine of Henri Krug's career (unless it is challenged by the 2002)."

2000 La Gomerie, St-Emilion Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $802.00.

Auction Ending on August 23, 2013 6:00 PM PST

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 La Gomerie, St-Emilion (96RP, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Two recent tastings of the 2000 La Gomerie both reinforced my comments of seven years ago. An interesting thing about this 100% Merlot is how well it ages. Perhaps it deserves more attention. Its dense purple color is followed by a beautiful perfume of spring flowers, creme de cassis, jammy black cherries, licorice, graphite, and espresso roast. Full-bodied, deep, superbly concentrated, pure, long, and made in a modern style, it should drink well for another decade."

Staff Image

2000 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $1,630.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 5:30 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 95ST, 93WS).Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the wines of the vintage, the 2000 has barely budged in its evolution since it was bottled and released in 2002. After ten years in bottle, it still reveals a dense opaque purple color along with a potentially sensational bouquet of blueberries, black currants, graphite, asphalt and background oak. Extremely powerful, full-bodied and superbly concentrated with good acidity and high but round tannins, this massive La Mission-Haut-Brion should take its place among this estate’s most hallowed vintages when it hits full maturity in another one to two decades."

2001 Lafaurie-Peyraguey, Sauternes (375ml) Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $220.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 2:30 PM PST

Bid on this 6-half-bottle lot of 2001 Lafaurie-Peyraguey, Sauternes (375ml) (96RP, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This superb, light to medium gold/green-hued Sauternes is a full-bodied, opulent, enormously endowed, moderately sweet offering with plenty of pineapple, peach, caramel, and smoky new oak characteristics. With great viscosity as well as richness, and good underlying acidity providing vibrancy and definition, it should be at its peak between 2008-2030."

1982 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $2,950.00.

Auction Ending on August 22, 2013 6:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 1982 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (97RP, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a denser version of the 1990 that stylistically reminds me of what the young 1959 probably tasted like. Still backward with a deep ruby/plum color revealing only a touch of lightening at the edge, the wine offers up an extraordinary nose of caramelized herbs, smoke, cedar, pen ink, black currants, and earth. The gorgeous aromatics are followed by a full-bodied, plump, rich, fleshy wine with low acidity. With 6-8 hours decanting in a closed decanter, it will offer beautiful drinking, but it needs another 5-8 years to reach full maturity. It is capable of lasting 50-60 years."

2000 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $4,806.00.

Auction Ending on August 23, 2013 6:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (100WS, 100JS, 99WE, 98RP, 96ST). Wine Spectator: "Since taking over this first-growth estate in 1994, director Charles Chevallier has taken the wines from strength to strength. He is now the most capable winemaker of the top estates in the Médoc. This is the best young Lafite I have tasted. A triumph. Subtle aromas of currants, leather, tobacco and cedar-a classic cigar box nose, with plenty of fruit. It's full-bodied, with silky, ripe tannins. This is a wine that completely coats your palate, but caresses it at the same time. Best after 2012."

1998 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $1,350.00.

Auction Ending on August 24, 2013 6:30 PM PST

Bid on this 2 - bottle lot of 1998 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (98RP,95WS,94ST). "A blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot, this wine represents only 34% of Lafite's total harvest. In a less than perfect Medoc vintage, it has been spectacular since birth, putting on more weight and flesh over the last year. This opaque purple-colored 1998 is close to perfection. The spectacular nose of lead pencil, smoky, mineral, and black currant fruit soars majestically from the glass. The wine is elegant yet profoundly rich, revealing the essence of Lafite's character. The tannin is sweet, and the wine is spectacularly layered yet never heavy. The finish is sweet, super-rich, yet impeccably balanced and long (50+ seconds). Anticipated maturity: 2007-2035" - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2012)

1975 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $700.00.

Auction Ending on August 21, 2013 6:00 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1975 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1975 is a powerful Lafite...In most cases, it has been an outstanding wine, as the bottle tasted in December suggested. The aromatics indicate the wine is fully mature, but the tough tannin level clearly underscores the dark side of the 1975 vintage. This wine will undoubtedly last for another 30+ years... may still turn out to be an exceptional Lafite."

1976 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $421.00.

Auction Ending on August 23, 2013 5:30 PM PST

Bid on this 1-bottle lot of 1976 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1976 Lafite clearly stands far above the crowd in this vintage. A beautiful bouquet of seductive cedarwood, spices, and ripe fruit precedes a very concentrated, darkly colored wine, with great length and texture. Some amber is just beginning to appear at the edge. The 1976 has turned out to be the best Lafite of the '70s."

1990 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $2,900.00.

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 6:00 PM PST

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1990 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (96RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Interestingly, a bottle of 1990 Lafite Rothschild I pulled from my cellar for a video blog on my web site was still buttoned down, tight, and even with extended decanting was not showing as much as I would have hoped. However, a bottle tasted, of all places, in Seoul, Korea in February, was only a few points short of perfection. That amazing performance motivated me to pull another bottle out of my cellar and follow it over the course of two days. Sure enough, by the second day the wine was roaring from the glass."

Purchased from a classified growth, the Lalande property is planted to 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The Borie name was added to create the Lalande-Borie label at the time of purchase. The the same level of care goes into the winemaking here as does the other wines in the Borie portfolio.

1985 Latour, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $305.00.

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 5:30 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 1985 Latour, Pauillac (93WS). Wine Spectator: "Rich and ripe wine. Dark red color with an amber edge. Loads of meat, berry and tobacco character on the nose. Very rich. Full-bodied, with soft, velvety tannins and a long, ultraripe fruit finish. Still very fresh and young."

Staff Image

2001 Latour, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $463.00.

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 6:30 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 2001 Latour, Pauillac (95RP, 95WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A brilliant offering, which should be drinkable much earlier than the blockbuster 2000, the 2001 Latour boasts an inky/ruby/purple color to the rim as well as a glorious bouquet of black currants, crushed stones, vanilla, and hints of truffles and oak. A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and the balance primarily Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it reveals a sweetness on the palate that is atypical for such a young Latour. The beautiful integration of tannin, acidity, and wood is stunning."

Staff Image

2004 Latour, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $461.00.

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 5:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 2004 Latour, Pauillac (97WE, 95RP, 95WS, 94ST). Wine Enthusiast: "There are tannins, structure and power, but also supreme elegance. The 2004 acidity comes through in the sweet cassis flavors, supported at the back by dry tannins. Currently, the wine is closed up, losing some of its fresh fruit, but this is a moment in its slow evolution towards a classic Latour."

1987 Latour, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $425.00.

Auction Ending on August 23, 2013 4:30 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 1987 Latour, Pauillac. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1987 Latour was made from 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot, without any Cabernet Franc or Petit Verdot. The wine has a ruby color with some amber, and a promising bouquet of blackcurrants, spicy oak, and herbs. Medium-bodied, with more power and tannin than many wines of this vintage..."

1966 Latour, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $875.00.

Auction Ending on August 21, 2013 6:00 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1966 Latour, Pauillac (96RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine of the vintage, the 1966 Latour is a classic, old style Bordeaux that has required decades to become drinkable. A dark, opaque garnet color is followed by a fabulous nose of cedar, sweet leather, black fruits, prunes, and roasted walnuts, refreshing underlying acidity, sweet but noticeable tannin, and a spicy finish. This powerful, vigorous, immensely impressive, concentrated Latour has reached its plateau of maturity, where it will remain for another 10-20 years."

Staff Image

1986 Latour, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $651.00.

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 5:30 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Latour, Pauillac (90RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted from my cellar, the 1986 has consistently been outstanding, falling short of being sublime. The spicy, peppery bouquet reveals aromas of dried herbs and red currant fruit. Medium-bodied, austere, but youthful, vigorous, and concentrated, this wine still requires 4-5 years of cellaring."

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 3:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien (90WS, 90RP). "The dense, murky, purple color, closed aromatics, massive flavor richness, and high tannin recall the old, non-compromised, beefy, blockbuster Medocs produced thirty years ago. However, this wine possesses sweeter tannin, and was made under far more sanitary conditions. It is a classic, but patience is definitely required. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2030." -Robert Parker

Auction Ending on August 22, 2013 5:30 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (99RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This magnificent Lynch Bages has been drinking well since the day it was released and it continues to go from strength to strength. The biggest, richest, fullest-bodied Lynch Bages until the 2000, the fully mature 1990 exhibits an unbelievably explosive nose of black currants, cedarwood, herbs and spice. The majestic, classically Bordeaux aromatics are followed by a full-bodied, voluptuously textured, rich, intense wine with superb purity as well as thrilling levels of fruit, glycerin and sweetness. This beauty should continue to provide immense pleasure over the next 15+ years."

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1989 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (99RP, 96WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 has taken forever to shed its formidable tannins, but what a great vintage of Lynch Bages! I would rank it at the top of the pyramid... Its dense purple color reveals a slight lightening at the edge and the stunning bouquet offers classic notes of creme de cassis, subtle smoke, oak and graphite. Powerful and rich with some tannins still to shed at age 22, it is still a young adolescent in terms of its evolutionand will benefit from another 4-5 years of cellaring. It should prove to be a 50 year wine."

Bid on this bottle of 1989 Margaux, Margaux (100WS). Wine Spectator: "This is still just a baby, offering currant and berries, with dried flowers that turn to subtle cedar and dried fruits. Structured and full-bodied, with ultrafine tannins and supersilky texture. This is so tight and powerful, but still backward. The palate builds and builds, with amazing tannins. A little chewy, this needs years still. You can drink it of course, but a waste now."

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 2:30 PM PST

Bid on this single bottle of 1990 Montrose, St-Estèphe (100RP,95ST,94WS). "I have had the 1990 Montrose on four separate occasions over the last several months, and I have consistently rated it either 99 or 100... The wine remains a blockbuster, an inky/ruby/purple-colored effort revealing stunning concentration, amazingly high glycerin, and abundant amounts of sweet black fruits intermixed with notions of earth and spice. It is a fleshy, full-bodied St.-Estephe with atypically high amounts of fatness and fruit extract, but it is settling down nicely and seems set for another 2-3 decades of longevity." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2009)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2003 Montrose, St-Estèphe (97RP, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The enormous 2003 Montrose is built along the lines of the 1989 rather than the 1990. It boasts a dense black/purple color in addition to an extraordinary bouquet of scorched earth, blackberries, and cassis, fabulous purity, a skyscraper-like texture, and substantial tannin in the finish. This superb, huge, ripe wine is one of the vintage’s most prodigious offerings. However, patience will be essential for anyone purchasing this 2003."

It is the only chateau in the Classification of 1855 to achieve reclassification. In 1973, it was finally moved from a second growth to a first.

1989 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $331.00.

Auction Ending on August 23, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 1989 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (96WS, 90RP, 90ST). Wine Spectator: "Shows so much ripe and decadent fruit on the nose, from dried berries and raisin to strawberry and sultana. There is a nutty, cedar undertone as well. Very complex and full-bodied, with lots of vanilla bean and ripe plum flavors. This is almost Burgundian in texture: so soft and so attractive, but then the Bordeaux tannins kick in at the end. What a wine. So much ahead in its life, but just coming around now."

1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $933.00.

Auction Ending on August 24, 2013 6:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98ST, 89WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine remains one of the legends of Bordeaux. It has thrown off the backward, youthful style that existed during its first 25 years of life, and over the last 4-5 years has developed such secondary nuances as cedar and spice box. The creme de cassis, underlying floral note, full-bodied power, extraordinary purity, multilayered texture, and finish of over a minute are a showcase for what this Chateau accomplished in 1982."

1983 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $266.00.

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 3:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 1983 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (94WS, 91RP). Wine Spectator: "Super-refined 1983 Bordeaux with an excellent deep ruby color and intense cigar-box, plum and berry aromas and flavors; there's even a hint of mint. It's full-bodied but very reserved in style with fine tannins and a seductively long finish."

1995 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $431.00.

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 5:00 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 1995 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (95RP, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bottled in June, 1997, this profound Mouton is more accessible than the more muscular 1996. A blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 19% Merlot, it reveals an opaque purple color, and reluctant aromas of cassis, truffles, coffee, licorice, and spice. In the mouth, the wine is "great stuff," with superb density, a full-bodied personality, rich mid-palate, and a layered, profound finish that lasts for 40+ seconds. There is outstanding purity and high tannin, but my instincts suggest this wine is lower in acidity and slightly fleshier than the brawnier, bigger 1996. Both are great efforts from Mouton-Rothschild."

2002 Palmer, Margaux Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $278.00.

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Palmer, Margaux (94RP, 91WS, 90ST). "Dense, medium to full-bodied, with high levels of tannin in a big, full-bodied style (much in the spirit of such classic Bordeaux vintages as 1966, 1986, and 1996), this wine possesses superb purity and serious length, but should be purchased only by those with considerable patience and a good, cold cellar, since it will need plenty of time. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2028." -Robert Parker

1995 Palmer, Margaux Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $389.00.

Auction Ending on August 24, 2013 4:30 PM PST

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Palmer, Margaux (94RP, 94WS, 90ST). "Deep garnet with a brick rim. Very pure aromas of warm cassis, kirsch and dried lavender over a touch of truffles and game. The power of the palate is in the taut structure of medium +, fine grained tannins and medium to high acidity, fleshed-out by generous rich fruit. Very long finish. Beautiful balance." -Robert Parker

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 3:30 PM PST

Bid on this 1-bottle lot of 1983 Palmer, Margaux (96RP, 90WS). "Medium saturated color. Intense, rich nose with notes of blackberries, blueberries, prunes, violet, mocha, musk, spice, and cedar. Opulent on the palate with resolved tannins. The wine’s freshness and softness are perfectly combined. It’s delicate, yet complex; there’s a lot going on as it changes in the glass. The finish is very long with a licorice accent." -Robert Parker

2000 Pape Clément, Pessac-Léognan Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $487.00.

Auction Ending on August 25, 2013 3:30 PM PST

Bid on this 3 - bottle lot of 2000 Pape Clément, Pessac-Léognan (96RP,94WE,92ST). "This wine stands out as a sensational effort just a few years away from full maturity. A 50/50 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine displays loads of scorched earth and smoky barbecue scents along with blueberry, black raspberry and black currant. The wine is expansive, has a savory, broad palate and a full-bodied mouthfeel, yet possesses vivid purity and uplift. The tannins are still present, but they are sweet and well-integrated. This wine should hit full maturity in another year or two and last for at least 20 more years." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2010)

Of the "Galets Blonds," Robert Parker's WIne Advocate writes, "The 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Galets Blonds is composed of 85% Grenache, 12% Syrah, and the rest Mourvedre. It exhibits a deep ruby/purple color as well as classic notes of creme de cassis, kirsch, licorice, spice box, pepper, and truffles. Full-bodied with layers of fruit, lovely sweetness, sweet tannin, and a lusty, heady, hedonistic finish, it should provide plenty of pleasure over the next 15+ years."

Auction Ending on August 21, 2013 2:30 PM PST

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Paul Jaboulet "La Chapelle" Hermitage (93WS). Wine Spectator: "Very aromatic, refined and intriguing. A medium-bodied wine that opens up with crisp, citrusy notes that are a bit sour, then delivers freshly crushed red berries, dried herbs and cassis in a rather narrow range. Not much seduction here, but there is a mineral, iron, wet earth and terroir quality that is unmistakably unique and keeps you coming back for more."

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this 7-bottle lot of 1995 Pavie Macquin, St-Emilion (92ST, 92WS). "Intense blackberry aroma, with dark chocolate and vanilla. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and good fruit. Lots of wood on the palate still, but I appreciate the racy style. Tight." -Wine Spectator

1999 Pavie Macquin, St-Emilion Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $150.00.

Auction Ending on August 24, 2013 4:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3 - bottle lot of 1999 Pavie Macquin, St-Emilion (91-92ST,91RP). "The dense plum/purple-colored 1999 offers up aromas of truffles, underbrush, espresso, black cherries, and roasted meats. The wine is powerful and muscular with high extract and mouth-searing tannin, it is an atypically backward effort for the vintage. Patient connoisseurs who admire wines with this level of intensity will be handsomely repaid for their discipline. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2020." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2002)

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 3:00 PM PST

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1996 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (91RP, 90ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Pichon Longueville Baron's 1996 has turned out to be even better than I thought from cask. The high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend (about 80%) resulted in a wine that has put on weight in the bottle. An opaque purple color is accompanied by beautiful aromas of tobacco, new saddle leather, roasted coffee, and cassis. It is dense, medium to full-bodied, and backward, with moderately high tannin, but plenty of sweet fruit, glycerin, and extract to balance out the wine's structure. This well-endowed, classic Pauillac should be at its finest between 2006-2022."

This 2005 continues in that tradition, a spicy, fruity wine, which has restraint as well as hidden power."

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (95WE, 93RP, 92ST, 92WE). Wine Enthusiast: " *Cellar Selection* The high proportion of Merlot in Pichon Lalande is a good reason why this wine, among the great wines of Pauillac, is always so seductive. This is no exception; it charms as well as excites with vibrant fruits as well as serious, dense tannins and acidity that promise good aging. Give it 7-9 years for full maturity to begin."

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 2:30 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (95RP, 94WS, 93ST, 91WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One cannot say enough about the labors of proprietor Alfred Tesseron, who has personally overseen the dramatic increase in quality of the wines at Pontet-Canet which started in a significant manner with 1994. This is a classic Pauillac-styled wine (meaning oodles of cassis flavors), as one might expect from a vineyard on the plateau of Pauillac, across the street from Mouton-Rothschild. One of the great successes of the vintage and certainly one of the most profound Pontet-Canets made over the last decade is the 2003. Deep purple to the rim with a glorious nose of scorched earth, black currant jam, smoke, licorice, and roasted meats, it is full-bodied, incredibly powerful, dense, with low acidity but high tannin, broad-shouldered, and savory. This is a stunning, pure, classic Pontet-Canet that should be at its best between 2010 and 2035."

1996 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $238.00.

Auction Ending on August 22, 2013 2:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (92RP, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I was shocked by how backward the 1996 Pontet-Canet was on the three occasions I tasted it in January. This wine possesses superb potential, but it appears a decade's worth of patience will be necessary. The color is a saturated dark purple. With coaxing, the wine offers aromas of black currant jam intertwined with minerals, sweet oak, and spice. A full-bodied wine, it possesses layered, concentrated sweet fruit, with an elevated level of ripe tannin."

Wine Spectator: "* Ranked #34 on The Wine Spectator's "Top 100 Wines" of 2007 * Highly Recommended * Shows beautiful aromas of crushed berries and currants, with hints of mineral. Full-bodied, with lovely currant, licorice and mint. Long and caressing. Very refined and balanced red. Another winner from Pontet-Canet."

Bid on this magnum of 2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (1.5L) (100RP, 98JS, 96ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An amazing wine in every sense, this classic, full-bodied Pauillac is the quintessential Pontet Canet from proprietor Alfred Tesseron, who continues to reduce yields and farms his vineyards biodynamically a rarity in Bordeaux. Black as a moonless night, the 2009 Pontet Canet offers up notes of incense, graphite, smoke, licorice, creme de cassis and blackberries. A wine of irrefutable purity, laser-like precision, colossal weight and richness, and sensational freshness, this is a tour de force in winemaking that is capable of lasting 50 or more years."

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Salon "Le Mesnil" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (97RP, 96WE, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Salon is yet another wine that is maturing splendidly. Once focused to the point of being painfully austere and angular, today the 1996 Salon has begun to soften and fill out. My latest bottles have been rich, generous and totally compelling in every way."

The fully mature 2000 displays gorgeous aromas of camphor, lead pencil shavings, unsmoked tobacco, plums, and black currants. With full body, a velvety texture, and beautiful weight, richness, and length, this superb wine should evolve, possibly improve for another 15 years. It’s a beauty!"

Yes, this is a little dry and tannic, even austere, but I love the opulence." -Wine Spectator

Very subtle flavors build impressively on the sweet finish, which features very fine tannins."

1999 Aldo Conterno Barolo "Cicala" Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $360.00.

Auction Ending on August 23, 2013 5:00 PM PST

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1999 Aldo Conterno Barolo "Cicala" (93RP, 91WS). "My personal favorite in the Conterno line has always been the Barolo from the Cicala vineyard, though it is always the most tannic in its youth, and the latest to come around. The 1999 Barolo Vigna Cicala is no exception. Ruby/garnet, potent on the nose with varietal Nebbiolo scents of roses, wild cherries, tar, and minerals, it is long and intense on the palate, full-textured and with a notable tannic punch which adds density and length to the flow. Still backward and with a smoky, mineral, and licorice close, this is a wine which will repay patience." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

2007 Antinori Tignanello Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $111.00.

Auction Ending on August 26, 2013 1:30 PM PST

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Antinori Tignanello (95RP, 94WE, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Antinori's 2007 Tignanello is wonderfully ripe and seductive in its dark cherries, flowers, spices, tobacco, sage, cedar, mint and minerals. This is as opulent a Tignanello as I have ever tasted but there is just enough acidity and structure from the Sangiovese to keep things from going over the top. The wine's richness and warmth are such that in a blind tasting I mistook the 2007 Tignanello for a wine from Maremma! The dense, muscular fruit follows through to an impeccable finish with no hard edges and impossibly fine, silky tannins. Simply put, the 2007 is a magnificent Tignanello."

Auction Ending on August 27, 2013 11:30 AM PST

Bid on this bottle of 2003 Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino (93W&S, 91RP, 89ST, 89WS). Wine & Spirits: "Il Poggione selects its Brunello from vines that are at least 20 years old, when they've rooted deeply through the subsoil and can weather the intense heat of a vintage like 2003. This brooding wine is all muscle when first poured, with powerful tannins supporting rich plum flavor. It reveals more definition with air, the fruit aspect turning redder (strawberries, cherries) even as the sinewy tannins maintain their firm grip. Classically styled, with immense structure supporting its many layers, this wine will continue to develop over the next decade."

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The estate’s top bottling the 2001 Brunello di Montalcino 123 is made in a similarly large-scaled, super-ripe style. It presents generous amounts of sweet fruit, chocolate and toasted oak sensations with outstanding concentration and length on the palate. Though not especially typical of Sangiovese it offers lovely overall balance as well as harmony with a lingering note of sweetness on the finish. "

2005 Achával Ferrer "Finca Mirador" Malbec Mendoza Current bid (as of November 19, 2017 8:00 PM PST): $201.00.

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Achával Ferrer "Finca Mirador" Malbec Mendoza (94RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The glories of Achaval-Ferrer are the limited production single-vineyard Malbecs. Compared to the 2004, the 2005 Finca Mirador Malbec is more dense and austere. It is likely to have a longer drinking window and it will be a pleasant task to compare the two vintages in another decade. Although Achaval-Ferrer’s wines have virtually no track record, I am confident that they will evolve in the manner of a First Growth Bordeaux."
