Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon 750ml (Ships as 1.5L)

SKU #997971 97 points Wine Enthusiast

Complex and addictive. Scents of cinnamon, hazelnuts, and dried fruit precede big flavors: cinnamon spice, raisinated and plummy, like Madeira or Sherry. Long finish, with a bit of a bite. (9/ 2010)

90 points Whisky Advocate

An elegant bourbon, and very drinkable too! Its flavors are clean and tight, with bright fruit (nectarine, tangerine, pineapple), soft coconut, honeyed vanilla, cotton candy, and subtle gin botanicals. Polished leather and a hint of dark chocolate on the finish. Great anytime. (Vol. 22, #3)

K&L Notes

Medium gold in color. The nose brings notes of butterscotch, clover, vanilla and old leather. The big body displays a palate with an almost wine-like character that balances intense fruits, honey and vanilla with a light spiciness that shows off the distiller's craft. The finish is long and warm.

This is a fantastic bourbon value. Dangerously easy drinking. Probably my favorite bourbon at this price point. Named for the former master distiller at Buffalo Trace, who still hand picks the barrels at 90 something years old.

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.
