Moet & Chandon "Imperial" Brut Rosé Champagne

SKU #996609 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

(roughly 45% pinot noir, 35% pinot meunier and 20% chardonnay): Bright orange-pink. Spicy cherry, red berries, blood orange and five-spice powder on the perfumed nose. Fleshy but dry, boasting excellent energy to its bitter cherry, redcurrant and floral pastille flavors. Finishes smooth and fleshy, with very good breadth and cling. The turnaround over the last few years at this house, now under the guidance of chef de cave Benoit Gouez, has been remarkable. (12/ 2013)

91 points Wine Spectator

A smoky, fresh rosé, lightly chalky in texture, showing delicate flavors of crème de cassis, gumdrop, grilled plum and ground spice. Minerally finish. Drink now through 2018. (12/ 2012)

90 points Wine & Spirits

A soft rosé touched by raspberry flavors, this is generous and juicy in the middle, cut by a sharp acidity in the finish. It hints at the scent of pressed flowers. For aperitifs. (12/ 2012)

Wine Enthusiast

The rosé rendition of one of the best-selling Champagnes has been reformulated for the U.S. market. It is now on the dry side, pushing forward its delicious red fruit. Bright acidity gives the palate a lift, while there is some good weight on the finish. (12/ 2012)

K&L Notes

Finalist, Ultimate Wine Challenge 2013, and 92 points: "Aromas are rich and slightly toasted, reminiscent of freshly baked rolls. Bright flavors of cherries and rhubarb fill the mouth with a deep yeasty finish. Bubbles are small and compact, producing a smooth mousse and overall soft mouthfeel. Delicious."
