Maverick grower Al Brounstein first established Diamond Creek on the secluded Diamond Mountain in 1968. Devoted entirely to Bordeaux varietals, Diamond Creek has established itself as a source for fine fruit and, in turn, fine wine. The five-acre Gravelly Meadow vineyard is the winery's second coolest vineyard site, boasting well-drained stony, gravelly soils famous for their low yields. With more than a twenty years of bottle age, this magnum should be a graceful addition to your table. According to Wine Spectator: "An earthy wine, crisp and intense, this may well surprise with age. Has plenty of flavor and depth, but remains austere." (06/98) With another decade of age on it, this "Gravelly Meadow" should be drinking beautifully now!
