Riedel Sommeliers Burgundy 4400/16 (Can't Ship) (Elsewhere $125.00)

SKU #720026

4 glasses per case. Price is per stem. Cannot Ship. This glass was described by Decanter magazine after their first official glass comparison as: "The finest Burgundy glass of all time, suitable for both young and old Burgundies." Its shape, developed in 1958, represented a quantum leap in terms of wine glass design and has earned it a place in the permanent display of the New York Museum of Modern Art. Not necessarily for your everyday drinker--this glass can amplify the flaws of lesser wines--but a beautiful stem for beautiful wines. The large bowl allows the bouquet fully develop, while the slightly flared top lip directs the wine onto the palate, pushing the fruit flavors to the fore. This is a glass that enhances and highlights Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo from around the globe, particularly Burgundy, Barolo and Barbaresco. Height: 248mm 9 3/4 in. Capacity: 1050 ccm 37 oz. Are these glasses fragile, expensive and to large to store easily? Do they put a magnifying focus on any flaw in an average Pinot? Yes- guilty as charged! I don't recommend them to everyone, but for the right home there is simply no better glass. Cinnamon and I have owned six of these for more than a decade, used them at least once a week, and never broken one. If you love Burgundy and elegant Pinot Noir from other parts of the world, and are willing to invest the time to hand wash these incomparable glasses and the money to purchase them, you will not be disappointed!
