This deep amber spirit, a blend of over 40 whiskies, has a sweet, deeply caramel scent, with a tinge of dried fruit. The flavor is oaky, smoky and dry; a little ice water mellows it nicely and coaxes out some burnt-caramel and raisiny notes. Lingering, moderately smoky finish. (9/ 2011)
