Fun and festive, with floral raspberry and graham cracker aromas leading to crisp and succulent lemon and strawberry flavors. A reliable value in California bubbly. (Web Only- 2012)

89 points Connoisseurs Guide

*Good Value* There is a definite spot of cherry-like fruit sitting at the center of this one, but it is framed by plenty of creamy, well-autolyzed yeast, and the wine is far from being simply fruity. It is both delicate and fairly rich at one and the same time, and its combination of complexity and fine balance earns it a place at the head of the current non-vintaged Blanc de Noirs class and a priceworthy choice to boot. K&L Notes

This is a delicious locally produced Blanc de Noirs and a fantastic value. It's very elegant and balanced with toasty flavors and strawberry fruit. The legendary Spanish sparkling wine producer, Freixenet, established Gloria Ferrer in the Carneros region of California. Besides being one of the most fun places to go in the wine country, Gloria Ferrer is also one of the top value producers when it comes to California sparkling wine.

Sub-Region:

California

- With the explosive growth that California's wine industry has seen the past several years, it's easy to view winemaking and grape growing in the Golden State as a recent phenomenon. And while it's true that California's viticultural history is brief compared to several European countries, this state's roots date back well over 200 years. Due to the enormous response to California wine within the United States and worldwide, there are thousands of excellent and diverse wines being produced within the state each year. Specific Appellation:

Carneros

- Just across the Golden Gate from San Francisco, Carneros is kept cool by Bay breezes and thick fog, and has long been famous for cool-climate pinot noir, chardonnay and sparkling wine based on the two varietals. Warmer pockets have proved interesting and promising homes for syrah, cabernet and merlot.
