Alexander Jules K&L Exclusive Single Barrel "Amontillado Singular" 19/27 Sanlucar de Barrameda (Pre-Arrival)

SKU #1167276

This is an exciting first for us here at K&L: our very own, hand-selected, exclusive barrel of Amontillado! Selected from a 27-barrel solera of VERY OLD (50 year average age) Amontillado that typically is blended into the Amontillado VORS bottling at Argueso. The flavors are, as one would expect of Amontillado this old from one of the great historic houses in Sanlucar, pungent, complex, saline, citric, candied and yet, at the same time, bone dry. There are too many nuances of aroma and flavor to mention in this truly special bottling. This is the second of two knockout barrels we selected at the bodega earlier this year. Compared to the 4/27, this one is perhaps more masculine, with spicier and headier aromatics, yet linear on the palate, with a clear flor and salt driven personality that speaks both to its Sanlucar origins and the highest quality of Argueso's old Amontillado. Very limited, when it's gone it's gone! Don't miss the chance to own this rarity and take part in a small slice of K&L history ! (Joe Manekin, K&L Spanish & Portuguese Wine Buyer)
