Alexander Jules K&L Exclusive Single Barrel "Amontillado Singular" 4/27 Sanlucar de Barrameda (Pre-Arrival)

SKU #1167275

This is an exciting first for us here at K&L: our very own, hand-selected, exclusive barrel of Amontillado! It was selected from a 27-barrel solera of VERY OLD (50 year average age) Amontillado that typically is blended into the Amontillado VORS bottling at Argueso. The flavors are, as one would expect of Amontillado this old from one of the great historic houses in Sanlucar, pungent, complex, saline, citric, candied and yet, at the same time, bone dry. There are too many nuances of aroma and flavor to mention in this truly special bottling. While the Amontillado muy viejo bottling from Argueso is a treat, this particular single barrel is both recognizably of the solera and a standout on its own, without blending; it is truly a superlative old Amontillado. Of the two barrels, this one has more dried and candied fruits on the nose, and a softer palate that is bone dry, but more supple and giving than the 19/27. Very limited, when it's gone it's gone! Don't miss the chance to own this rarity and take part in a small slice of K&L history ! (Joe Manekin, K&L Spanish & Portuguese Wine Buyer)
