2010 Domaine Carneros Brut Sparkling Wine
Toasted nuts, double cream brie, oysters and roast game bird; these are a few of our favorite things, when we're pairing rich California sparkling wine from Domaine Carneros. The Champagne house Taittinger, which knows terroir when it comes to sparkling wine, established this sparkling wine house in the Carneros appellation in 1987. The winery's notes on this brand-new vintage: "The 2010 harvest was marked by a cool late spring, which delayed bud break. The berry size was unusually small, however, slightly more clusters than typical, produced a near normal crop. The resulting wine is intense and elegant. Lovely aromas of pear, golden apple, honeycomb, lemon zest and brioche lead to a very round palate and a long silky finish."
