That brief appassimento has shaped a delicious wine with loads of cherry and dark spice. Itís a great value with the depth of concentration and length that would match a wine double this price.  The 2010 Palazzo della Torre is gorgeous. Cool veins of acidity support the dark fruit in this mineral-infused, dark beauty. Graphite, licorice, tar and black cherries are some of many nuances that flow through to the impeccable, refined finish. An incredibly seductive nose for a very seductive wine. A concentration of cherries crushed with a touch of menthol, and significant graphite. Even though it is made in the Amarone method, I don't get the raisin qualities up front, but I do get that incredible richness and concentration. There is a freshness to this that makes you understand how easy it would be to finish a bottle of wine, sip after glorious sip. I happened to taste this with a Mexican dish I made the night before, that included braised pork, sauteed mushrooms with oregano, wrapped in a fresh tortilla covered in melted cheese, which lead me to ask the husband to make a risotto for dinner with similar components, but more of an Italian twist. I have no doubt that the dish will be a winner, and that I'll be sad as soon as I realize the bottle is empty.
