2006 Piper-Heidsieck Brut Champagne

SKU #1157235 93 points Wine Spectator

Rich and lightly toasty, this offers fine integration on a firm bead, with vibrant acidity and flavors of patisserie apple and pear, almond financier, crystallized honey, fleur de sel and kumquat. Hints of smoke and ripe fruit linger on the finish. Drink now through 2025. (11/ 2013)

92 points Wine Enthusiast

This rich and creamy vintage wine boasts soft apples, fresh acidity and a fine, tight texture. There’s just a hint of toast to round out the palate and add complexity. It could improve with age further, so drink through 2020. (12/ 2013)

91 points Wine & Spirits

Régis Camus found the pinot noir of 2006 particularly intense, so he increased the proportion of chardonnay in this blend, achieving a wine of depth and multidimensional flavor. There’s youthful tightness and austerity, focused in on lime pith (and, perhaps, a little banana pith), developing richer, juicy notes of pear as it opens. (12/ 2013)

90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Light yellow-gold. Zesty citrus fruits and white flowers on the highly fragrant, toasty nose. Juicy Meyer lemon and tangerine flavors give way to deeper pear and melon with air, picking up a buttery brioche quality and a hint of anise. Closes spicy and long, with lingering smokiness and a touch of bitter pear skin. (12/ 2013)
