2001 I Clivi "Clivi Brazan" Friulano Collio

SKU #1151304 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Bottle aged more than a decade, the 2001 Collio Goriziano Clivi Brazan 140 Months is a rich and sophisticated wine that could stand up to roasted white meat, shellfish or pasta with shaved truffles. This thickly structured white has the density and natural heft to match important dishes. It evolves slowly in the glass to impart defined fruit and spice aromas. The wine shows an absolutely beautiful quality and successfully demonstrates the aging capacity of Friulano (with 15% Malvasia in the case of this wine). You’d hardly guess its age. Drink: 2014-2019. (12/ 2003)

How would you ever come up with this idea? 140, yes 140 months. Once you taste this wine you will be thankful they did! 140 months in a stainless steel tank, that's almost 12 years of aging for a white wine. Not many white wines can last that long, let alone gain complexity. Predominantly made from the Friulano grapes that come from an 80-year-old vineyard, this wine's balance, texture and complex aromatics are viscerally stunning.
Drink from 2014 to 2017
