Prevoteau-Perrier Rosé Brut Champagne

SKU #1140369

This is a very tasty and refined rosť Champagne for not a lot of money! It is made with the same base wine as the Brut Tradition that we also carry; 50% Meunier, 35% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay, but they add about 10% red wine to give it the rosť aromatics, flavor and color. This red wine is from old plots in Damery in the western Valley of the Marne and is mostly Pinot Noir with a touch of Meunier. The Prevoteau-Perrier Rosť has a pretty salmon-pink color and lovely fresh bread and red cherry aromatics. It is very easy to drink, but has some serious savory complexity if you take the time to search for it. It finishes crisp and dry. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)

This really hits the spot with some salmon mousse! Over the weekend we enjoyed this in the backyard with friends who were over for a little Sunday dinner party. I was giving Champagne sabering lessons, and my good friend Matt dispatched this bottle with style on his first attempt, and we drank it outside with wild salmon and caper mousse. It has the friendly appeal of red cherry fruit but plenty of vinous intrigue to stand up to wild salmon. If you like rose, don't miss it!

Champagne

- The French region of Champagne (comprised of the towns of Rheims, Epernay, and Ay) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and winemaking traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range from the basic brut (often blends of several vintages), single vintage champagnes, and rose. View our bestselling Champagne.
