Bura Plavac is a fresh, aromatic wine from the cooler inland practicing organic vineyards on Pelješac Peninsula,a wine growing region in the Dalmatian region of Croatia that is part of the larger, coastal Region. Situated on the southwestern facing slope of the Zabrada mountains between the small villages of Trstenik and Podobuce, it is a highly regarded area for growing the indigenous Croatian red wine grape, Plavac Mali, a varietal said to be a relative to Zinfandel. The wine is medium-bodied, with fruity and bright aromas of black currant and cherry, it is best enjoyed slightly chilled with simple, clean foods.
