2012 Quinta da Aveleda Vinho Verde

SKU #1130290 92 points Wine & Spirits

Careful viticulture takes the fruit of this estate-grown wine into bright scents of lime, white rose and pink grapefruit, with a mouthwatering persistence of flavors that sets it apart. It's easy to drink a lot of this, chilled for a June wedding or July at the shore. I know of no other wine in the world that offers the fragrant pleasures of this white for anything close to $9. The Aveleda estate is the source of the fruit for this dry, delicious Vinho Verde. Its a reference for the food-friendly, lemon and grapefruit style, adding minerality and a taut texture to the forward fruitiness. Drink this summer, or hold for up to six months. Aveleda Imports. This lovely, bright, and refreshing white from Portugal offers up lovely aromas of lime zest and wet river stone mineral notes that carry over nicely to its lively, mildly spritzy [intended], crisp and dry, and mouthwatering flavor profile and finish. The Bean wants cases of this lovely Gem at our house because it is the perfect wine to match with shellfish. 11.5% ABV

The Quinta Da Aveleda Vinho Verde is bright and fresh, full of clean crip flavors. It is dry with a slight hint of fizz to liven it up and make it so fun and easy to drink. Great alone, it will go well with salad or lighter fish.
