2011 Neumayer Rafasetzen Grüner Veltliner Traisental
Wine & Spirits
This is highly perfumed, pepper and floral notes competing for primacy over sweet, peachy fruit. A slightly prickly acidity runs through it.
Single vineyard here, a wine that is a little less intense than Zwirch, with a bit more texture and a modest 12.2% alcohol. Rafasetzen is a GV that’s finely spiced, and the limestone minerality of the vineyard provides a tensile frame upon which the elegant fruit plays merrily with the piquant acidity. Shows some of the traditional GV Pfefferl finish, and benefits from the generosity of 2011's excellent ripeness.
