2012 Langoa-Barton, St-Julien (Pre-Arrival)
Barrel sample. There's great concentration here, on this powerful wine with very dry structure and dark character. The palate hints of a more perfumed character with fine fruitiness and lingering freshness on the finish.
A little fluid but some attractive blueberry and currant character. Medium body, fine tannins. Light finish.

Medium-deep ruby. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry and spicy oak are accented by black pepper and dried herbs. Juicy, leanish and only moderately intense, with a saline quality to the medicinal flavors of black fruits, licorice, spices, herbs and pepper...
Dark crimson. Edgy, leafy nose with thick appeal though it lacks a bit of really spontaneous freshness. Solid.
Soft at the core, featuring gentle plum and cherry pie notes, with dusty tannins and powdered vanilla accents on the finish.
