K&L Notes

A pleasant little Côtes de Provence Rosé from a property that's played host to St. Thomas Aquinas in 1252, was the residence of the Prince of Naples in the 1400s, appeared in the Register of Noble Houses. Rock fans may like to know that the recording studio "Studio Miraval" created on the site has reverberated with the music of Sting, Sade and the Cranberries, and that Pink Floyd recorded "The Wall" there in 1979. Miravals' current residents Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt partnered with Château de Beaucastel's Perrin family to produce the 2012 wines. Hey, who doesn't have a winter residence in Provence? More to the point, who doesn't need a crisp, refreshing Côtes de Provence Rosé in the summer? A conversation starter, to be sure. 13% abv.

Chateau Miraval, despite being better known nowadays for the Hollywood "liasons" it acquired, it still maintains itself as one of the best wineries of Provence. No kidding! This rosé is a picture perfect summer day in Provence. Cinsaut from old vines and Grenache. Fruity palate but perfectly dry. Pears, peaches and citrus on a very soft and pure palate.

A Provencal beauty! I know that Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie own this estate but that is not what makes it stand out. This is the perfect wine for a picnic or a brunch on the deck. To start, the pink color is beautiful but one must drink this for total enjoyment. The nose shows citrus & flowers that remind you of springtime. The flavors on the palate begin with layers of tangerine and lime. A crisp fruit flavor with a hint of mint and poached pear on the finish makes this a glorious wine to be enjoyed now. Life is good!
Drink from 2013 to 2016
