One of 7x7 Magazine's 'Seven Winemakers to Watch' in 2012, Vaugn-Duffy Wines is a tiny producer and the true labor of love for the young winemaking husband and wife team Matt Duffy and Sara Vaughn. Based in Sonoma County, their passion is for Pinot Noir, inspired by producers like Patz & Hall, Loring and Siduri, but their gentle, hands-off approach works magic with cool climate Syrah, too. This is red-fruited, peppery and bright, very Northern Rhone-like, with texture on the palate and spicy, mineral-laced finish.

Scores in these publications often represent the personal taste of an individual critic, which may not always coincide with your own.
