The long list of aromatic attributes includes black currant, candied fruit, bitter chocolate, soft vanilla and smokey campfire. A fresh, supple and complex red, with gorgeous layers of crushed red and black fruit, sandalwood, wild herb and truffle. Silky tannins add weight, and bright acidity drives the long, juicy finish, which ends with a hint of black ash. Drink now through 2020. (10/ 2011)
Deep ruby. Ripe, slightly high-toned aromas and flavors of raspberry, plum and coffee, along with a curious cola-like quality. Neither particularly complex nor large-scaled but nicely delineated, offering a good combination of ripeness and energy.
