2011 M. Chapoutier "Les Granits" Saint-Joseph Blanc (Pre-Arrival)
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The brilliant 2011 St.-Joseph Les Granits Blanc offers up scents of caramelized citrus, orange blossoms and honeysuckle. It is full-bodied with loads of fruit, and as of now, the telltale minerality has not yet penetrated the lavish fruit notes.
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Bright yellow-gold. Orange zest, jasmine, licorice and minerals on the intensely perfumed nose. Silky and precise, with very good lift to its tangy citrus fruit flavors. Shows a deeper pear nuance on the impressively long and clinging finish, which leaves a subtle floral note behind.
Pale honey colour. Honeysuckle nose. Pretty low acid makes it taste a little sweet but gloriously beguiling. Not that intense but very flattering with just a hint of bitter quinine quality on the end. Fun. 17/20 points.
