This is perhaps ever-so-slightly riper still than the Vaudésir, yet the expressive nose remains cool and fresh with aromas of white flowers, tidal pool and citrus nuances that merge gracefully into full-bodied and overtly muscular broad-shouldered flavors that also possess plenty of acid-buffering dry extract on the tight, intense and highly enduring finish. This bone dry and brilliantly chiseled effort also exhibits excellent cellar potential.  (9/ 2012)

 The 2010 Chablis Grenouilles, on the other hand, is much more closed down. Today it is the wine’s crystalline minerality that comes through most clearly. Hints of jasmine, green pears and apples develop in the glass, but this is a wine that needs time before its full personality begins to emerge.  Pale yellow. Subdued but pure aromas of fresh peach and dusty stone; hints at noble rot but there's excellent lift here as well. At once sweet and energetic, offering very good cut and strong mineral and powdered stone elements. Not a particularly fat style of Grenouilles. Finishes tactile, dusty and long, with a late note of cocoa bean. I like this.  (7/ 2012)

True French Chablis is a delicate, stony, crisp Chardonnay, bearing no resemblance to the anonymous plonk so labeled here.
