Very ripe fruit on the nose with plums and berries. Full, with soft tannins and a fruity, clean finish. A little lean. But should turn out nicely. Best after 2012. This is a wine made of half Sangiovese and half Cabernet Sauvignon from Volpaia's estate in Chianti Classico and Maremma. (12/ 2011)
This harmonious, elegant red delivers pure black cherry, blackberry, mineral and spice flavors. There's some power as well, evidenced by the finish, where dense tannins match the sweet fruit. Sangiovese and Cabernet. Best from 2014 through 2020. 2,000 cases made. –BS (10/ 2012)
