Rivesaltes is a small appellation in southern France's Languedoc-Roussillon region known in particular for its stunning fortified wines. This particular bottling, which had been resting in large casks, undisturbed, until its recent bottling, is an exquisite example of the style. Amber-hued, with mellow roasted coffee aromas and flavors, a touch of sprightly orange zest and a nutty almond finish, this would be delicious served with hard cheeses, fruit desserts or paired simply with good after-dinner conversation.
