The 2000 Syrah - and De Marchi was a pioneer with the grape in Italy - is peppery and gamey, long and vigorous, but with slightly drier tannins than the Sangiovese. (4/ 2004)
Has the Syrah stink--earthy, ripe and funky. Medium-bodied, with good fruit and a light raisin and spice aftertaste. Slightly rustic but interesting, with a short finish. Best after 2003. (10/ 2003)
