Situated in the Stags Leap District, White Rock Vineyards takes advantage of the white volcanic ash soils and slightly cooler Napa climate to produce hand-crafted, minerally, and distinct barrel-fermented Chardonnay. The estate-grown fruit was fermented on indigenous yeast, but with only 30% malolactic completion and 5% new French oak, the wine retains freshness and a creamy texture without too much wood character. Shades of pear, tangerine are enlivened by floral tones and enriched by a creamy caramel texture from the lees aging. The finish shows lemon and a hint of French oak with a dry character imbued by the fine acidity.
