The other outstanding offering is the medium to full-bodied 2010 Baron Louis, which is a Cotes du Rhone primarily from Lirac. A sleeper of the vintage, it is a co-fermented blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, Counoise and Mourvedre. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by sumptuous notes of raspberries, kirsch, spring flowers and loamy, earthy soil. (10/ 2012)
Delivers a juicy core of blackberry and black currant fruit laced with melted licorice and backed by a twinge of pastis on the finish. Drink now. (10/ 2012)
55% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 15% Syrah, 10% Carignan & 5% Mourvedre.
