*Year’s Best!* - As if the wine had no time to lose, this sauvignon immediately delivers all the nuances of fruit grown in the far-coast of Casablanca. Its notes of grass, herbs and citrus fruit power out of the glass with surprising intensity. A wine of profound flavor depths, this is structured and balanced to evolve over the next two to three years in the bottle. EQ Coastal comes from one of the new Matetic vineyards, hard by the sea, on a hillside facing north.

*Editor’s Choice* - Strikingly pungent on first take, with crackling aromas of cactus, nettle, lime and grapefruit. Feels zesty, deep and layered, with an even mix of tropical fruit flavors, stone fruits and green notes. About as right as it gets for Chilean Sauvignon Blanc.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2011 EQ Coastal Sauvignon Blanc comes from an organic and biodynamic cultivated vineyard from 'Valle Hermoso.' It has a fine bouquet reminiscent of a fine Marlborough with subtle tropical tones complementing the herbaceous green fruit. The palate is fresh and lively with crisp acidity, admirable tension and a poised, melon and pink grapefruit tinged finish. Excellent. Drink now-2014.

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Light yellow. Fresh pear and tangerine aromas are complemented by bay and lemon thyme. Taut, focused and juicy, with good depth to its nervy citrus and orchard fruit flavors. The brisk finish shows lingering floral and spice nuances.

Wine Spectator
This ripe yet crisp white offers ample grapefruit, citrus zest, straw and mineral notes to carry the rich finish.

K&L Notes
Matetic was founded in 1999 and quickly became a major player in the Chilean wine industry. The winery and their primary holdings are in the Rosario Valley an offshoot of the San Antonio Valley - a region famous for cool climate wine production. Matetic is known for their bold flavored pinot noirs and syrahs which have garnered great press over the years but more importantly they make an extraordinarily vibrant sauvignon blanc from the nearby Casablanca Valley which is Chile's premier growing region for this variety. The "EQ" Coastal is farmed organically from plots only 13 km from the Pacific Ocean where cool breezes and cloud cover create a long maturation period for the grapes allowing them to develop great complexity. The "EQ" is a pristine example of Chilean sauvignon blanc. Zesty grapefruit, kumquat, white flowers and capsicum aromas surround a generous core of minerality and stony texture with a slight brineyness. The finish is long and lingering and should be perfect with oysters, ceviche and creamy goat cheeses. (Keith Mabry, K&L Wine Merchants - Hollywood)
