*Top Wines of 2012* This has weight and depth, but remains stylish, with ginger and glazed pear notes in reserve while persimmon, green almond and piecrust notes lead the way. Lovely cut on the finish keeps the ginger edge echoing. Should develop nicely in the cellar. Drink now through 2020. (11/ 2012)
This is an off dry Chenin Blanc with the hallmark flavors of ripe yellow fruits and almonds that are balanced by intense acidity. With its still youthful crisp character, the wine should age. (9/ 2012)
Wondering what wine to serve with all of those heartwarming winter time vegetable recipes? I had a feeling... Impress your friends and your palate with this delightful Vouvray. Absolutely brilliant with butternut squash anything (I just had it with roasted butternut squash tacos) and will most definitely stand up to braised meats and stews. The balance between fruit and acidity along with a sneaky, underlying minerality makes this a sleeping little gem. This will be on my table a lot over the next few months and most likely be cheerfully sipped during my notorious post-dinner/late-night/quick-cook snacks. (Eric Story, Loire buyer)
