The opaque black-colored 2010 Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes is followed by notes of creme de cassis, barbecue smoke, graphite, spring flowers and grilled meat. With superb concentration, acidity, extract and richness as well as a boatload of tannin to shed, it will need 10-15 years of cellaring and should keep for half a century. (12/ 2011)
Inky purple. Deeply pitched aromas of cassis, blueberry, Moroccan spices and violet, plus a strong note of smoky minerals. Lush, expansive black and blue fruit compote flavors are impressively fresh, with a lively mineral spine adding back-end cut. Very deep but surprisingly lively, with strong finishing sweetness, clarity and smokiness (3/ 2012)
