Very lemony, with dried citrus fruit and pineapple. Hints of cream. Full-bodied, with plenty of good fruit and a medium finish. (Web-2010)
Purchased by Count Stephan von Neipperg and Didier Miqueu in 1992, Clos Marsalette was brought back to its full potential in 2002 with the completion of a new winemaking facility. Its six hectares of vines are planted on three gravelly hills along the Garonne River. This fresh and elegant white was aged on the lees for 9 months. Roughly equal parts of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, the wine is complex and balanced. It is just now entering its drinking window and has potential to age further.
