Our very first Single Barrel from this wonderful line distilled and aged at the Buffalo Trace facility in Frankfurt Kentucky. Rock Hill Farms has eluded our single barrel program for some time because it's just so darn good we haven't been able to find a single barrel that beats the standard bottling. Rock Hill is Buffalo Trace's "High Rye Recipe," meaning there's an unusually high proportion of rye grain in the mashbill. Nonetheless it is still a BOURBON and should not be confused with a straight rye. It's typically bottled as a single barrel of great consistency and character, however, we were astonished by the quality of this particular cask. This has always been a great crossover for bourbon lovers who want to dip their feet into the rye whiskey wading pool. Today, we have a whisky that will be a perfect choice for a rye drinker looking to dabble in the bourbons! Rich and spicy, with hints of citrus, fresh herbs, and black tea. Maybe a touch less sweet than the standard bottling, but it makes up for it with plenty of character. Truly one for the ages. Of course we only have 20 cases, cause all the good casks are tiny.
